The story starts off with Y/N Clarke, son of Isaac Clarke and Nicole Brennan loading the marker onto a loader. As Y/N carefully maneuvered the loader with the ominous black obelisk known as the Marker, he couldn't shake the sense of foreboding. It was as if the very air around them grew thicker with a malevolent presence. The activation of the Marker sent a shiver down Y/N's spine. The eerie glow intensified, and the beam shot up into the sky like a beacon of otherworldly power. Y/N clutched his head in agony as a sudden, searing pain ripped through his mind. The intensity of the torment was overwhelming, and he collapsed to one knee, fighting to maintain his consciousness. Nicole walked past her son as she stood near the marker, Y/N groaned and stood up as the pain went away.
Nicole: Thank you Y/N. I always believed in your father and you.
Y/N: Mom.....
Nicole: We're whole again. We are whole.
The marker shoots another beam into the sky. Y/N, still disoriented, stared at his mother by the Marker, her eyes filled with a strange mixture of determination and satisfaction.
Colony Computer: Emergency. Geo-orbital gravity tethers offline. Tectonic load release. Impact imminent. All personnel evacuate immediately.
Y/N: Oh no..... the pay load.
Y/N's eyes widened in realization, and a wave of panic coursed through him. The Colony Computer's warning echoed in his ears, and the imminent threat to the payload became painfully clear.
Y/N: Mom. I'll restart the tether! Just buy us time!
Nicole: Go my son.
With a mixture of determination and worry, Y/N nodded at his mother's words and sprinted away from her, making a beeline toward the control station for the geo-orbital gravity tethers. Y/N entered the control station and pressed the console.
Colony Computer: Error. Re-routing gravity tether control.
Y/N: Come on! Come on!!
Y/N's frustration mounted as he saw the error message flicker on the console screen. He pounded his fist against the console, his urgency growing with every passing second.
Y/N stepped away from the console and saw his mom being held captive by Kendra Daniels.
Daniels: Forget it Y/N. There's no fixing this.
Y/N: Let her go Daniel's!
Daniels: Let who go??? Can't you see how delusional you are?!
Y/N felt a rush of anger wash over him, and his voice rose in a mix of desperation and defiance.
Y/N: She's my mother! Let her go, Daniels! This isn't what she wants!
Daniels: I gave you a chance to come around Y/N. But I guess I'll have to open your eyes.
