Adele had anticipated the storm brewing between them, and she knew that night would mark a turning point. She had carefully chosen this moment, making sure that it would be just the two of them, alone in the quiet intimacy of her home. As the night unfolded according to plan, Adele made it clear that Nora would be staying over, using the excuse of a messy guest room to ensure they’d share a bed.

"It's only a couch and a bed in there," Adele had said with a casual shrug, but her eyes held a knowing gleam. "And I'm not letting you sleep on the couch, so you'll have to join me in my bed."

Nora’s heart raced at the thought. The idea of sharing a bed with Adele was both thrilling and terrifying, a mix of emotions she wasn’t sure she could handle. But she agreed, unable to say no to Adele, unable to resist the pull between them.

Later, as they lay side by side in Adele’s bed, the room dark and silent except for the sound of their breathing, Nora found herself too wired to sleep. Excitement and nerves had her mind racing, and she finally broke the silence.

"You know," Nora began hesitantly, her voice barely above a whisper, "it might’ve been better if I slept on the couch. I move a lot when I sleep."

Adele turned her head to look at Nora, her expression soft but amused. "It’s okay, love," she murmured, her voice warm with affection. "Move as much as you want."

"But I’m taking up your space," Nora protested, still feeling the weight of the situation.

Adele reached out, brushing a strand of hair from Nora’s face. "I don’t have a problem with that," she replied gently. "And you should get used to it because I’ve been far away from you for long enough. I can’t be without you anymore, so you’ll be moving in with me soon enough."

Nora’s breath caught in her throat at Adele’s words. The thought of moving in together, of being with Adele every day, was both overwhelming and exhilarating. But the tenderness in Adele’s voice, the way she spoke with such certainty, made Nora feel safe, like she was exactly where she was meant to be.

Eventually, Nora managed to drift off to sleep, her body relaxing into the warmth of the bed. But when she woke up the next morning, she found herself curled around Adele, holding her tightly. Embarrassed, Nora tried to pull away, worried she had overstepped.

But Adele didn’t let her go. She tightened her grip on Nora, her voice hushed but firm as she whispered, "Don’t be embarrassed about hugging your girlfriend. You’re mine, and I’m yours, so relax and let me enjoy holding you."

Nora’s heart swelled at Adele’s words, the simple declaration filling her with a sense of belonging she hadn’t felt in a long time. She let herself relax into Adele’s embrace, closing her eyes and breathing in the moment, savoring the warmth and comfort of being with the person she loved.

For the first time in months, Nora felt truly at peace. There were still challenges ahead, things they needed to work through, but as she lay there in Adele’s arms, she knew they would face them together. The storm that Adele had anticipated had come and gone, leaving behind the calm and the certainty that they were where they were meant to be—together.
