5 Years Later

We Are gang reunion part 2

24 hours earlier

Peem is cute. He has no idea that Toey has been updating me with his plans. In the last couple of weeks the whole gang has been busy putting together the final touches for our "surprise" wedding. A surprise at least for Peem. He has no idea everyone is back in Bangkok and has been going back and forth to our place and to the Beach where he took me for my very first train ride. This is where I told him I loved him.

Peem gave Toey a design for our wedding rings. Toey of course told me so I have to act surprised if he ever proposed to me. Pun planned my speech if it happens before the wedding day. He told me to reject the proposal and to make sure I tell Peem not to ever ask me again otherwise our plan won't be as surprising as we planned.

I hate to disappoint Peem but I had to hurt him one more time so I can give him our happily ever after.

Tonight is finally the night he is going to propose to me. We have been expecting it for a week now since he picked up the rings and we have to make sure we delay it until Saturday.

I acted distant during the week as planned to supposedly discourage him from proposing. I have been busy as well with work, preparations and driving back and forth, so that helped with my depressing mood.

After our dinner I can hear Peem silently cried. It broke my heart but I promised to make him happy from tomorrow onwards. I got my tuxedo sorted and hid it in our guest room. The whole gang and both our families are already in the venue for preparations tomorrow except for Q who needs to lure Peem to the beach tomorrow.

I secretly took the rings and put them on my tux pocket so I could give them to Tan to give to his kids, our ring bearers, Parker and Aydin. I sent a final text to the surprise group chat that all is go for tomorrow.

The morning rolls by and my nerves are at its peak. Peem left early as he normally does to go to his studio. Q texted as planned, he will be at the studio ready to be a shoulder to cry on and a breakfast to boot.

As soon as Q confirms Peem arrived, I drove straight to the beach. The venue is in full swing. The gang has different assigned works and as expected, Pun bossing everyone acting as the wedding coordinator. My family is here and so as Peems family including Dunk and Fourth, their neighbours. Melanie and Gemini along with Hana are also present helping with the decorations. Pun was confirming the reception and catering when my alarm went off to send text to Peem.

I looked for a quiet place to send a text in case he rings me after he reads the message. I wrote that I won't be meeting him for lunch and that I left. I didn't elaborate where I was going as I really am trying not to lie to him. I waited for a couple of minutes and read his reply with a short "ok". I would be lying if I say I'm not disappointed. I don't know what I was expecting as a response but I was expecting him to call and make me explain at least. He must be very upset at the moment.

I went back and checked on any last minute preparations. Tan and Fang are telling their kids when and where to stand.

Beer, Fai and Melanie are finishing off the flower arrangements placing them around the enclosed area of the beach. The altars and stage area were erected first thing this morning and everyone helped with lining up the chairs.

It is almost lunchtime and I am getting nervous. Finally Q texted that they have just changed from our place and he was able to convince Peem to dress up and go for a drive. They would be leaving shortly. That would give us two hours before they arrive.

The chaos started all over again, we all scrambled to shower and get ready. Luckily we reserved the accommodations exclusively so we can all get ready at the same time.

Time seems to go really slow. I want to see Peem. I am excited to make him mine. Q finally texted that they arrived and currently parking. It is now Toey's cue to meet them and bring Peem's tux jacket. Everyone got into place. We were like a symphony all getting into our positions as I await to see Peem.

I don't think I can truly explain how I feel at this moment. There I see Peem looking at some of the flower decorations, still doesn't seem to realise all these are for our wedding. He looks amazing. I see him being dragged by Q and Toey to stand at the entrance. Our nephews stood in front of him. He finally saw me waiting by the altar. I was sporting a huge smile. He looks confused at first, then our song started playing. He was looking around and then finally see everyone here along with all our families. The look of realisation hits his face. I can see his tears falling but I know it is tears of joy.

Time passed by really quick this time. We were saying our vows and then I hear the most amazing words I have been waiting for in the last five years.

"I now pronounce you partners for life"

I kissed him deeply. He is finally mine forever.

At Reception

I am finally home. My emotions are swirling as I watch the chaos around me.

Tan and Matt are arguing about their kids picking on each other. Mick just watching while eating and then playing games on his phone.

Fang yelling for them to stop arguing .

Q and Toey exchanging notes like they are having a secret conversation.

Chain watching Pun helping their daughter playing cupid with Hana and Parker. I guess apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Beer and Fai cooing their little bundle of joy as she makes baby sounds.

Melanie, Khaooat and Dunk are snickering watching Gemini and Fourth singing

Peem and I watch quietly as we drink with our parents and Aunt Pui.

The Gang is back with a few additions to our family. I couldn't be any happier than how I feel right now.

This is our new beginning. After all the secrets, dramas, and tears in the last five years, I can definitely say, our love for each other is a lot stronger than ever.
