i heard a thud on the porch of the big house. i rushed outside and saw a black-haired boy lying down, staring up at the ceiling fan, nearly unconscious.
he was holding on to grover, who was already unconscious.
i immediately knew he would play an important role in my life. that's the thing about being athena's kid—you know what someone will be in your story immediately. an enemy, a friend, a villain, etc.
i wasn't sure who'd this green-eyed boy be yet, but he would be important.
i looked down on him as i said, "he's the one. he must be." chiron had told me about "the one" who would finally give me the chance to go on a quest.
chiron shook his head at me. "silence, annabeth. he's still conscious. bring him aside."
after that sentence, "he's still conscious", the boy promptly fell unconscious.
"he's the one. he must be," i repeated, just to annoy Chiron.
chiron furrowed his eyebrows. "bring him inside, annabeth."
A/N
so this is short because most of the lightning thief ch4 was percy fighting the minotaur
but i promise, the next chapter will be longer!!
