Alyssa's PoV:

" Which ski slope are you going for?" Nate asked as we landed on the top of the mountain, it was significantly colder up here. The boys were already here alongside Regina who had her arms crossed probably still mad over my brother choosing Emily which I should say was something i was not expecting.

"Probably blue" I said as I looked at the intermediate track for skiing

"I am going on green because these legs weren't made for skiing" Nate mentioned making me laugh for a sort moment Amy and Selena arrived

"Hellooo" Selena said with a huge smile while Amy was pouting

"What happened?" Nate questioned seeing Amy's pout

"She wanted to take advantage of the situation" Selena explained making us lift an eyebrow "Wanted to go with Mason"

"Ohh" Nate nodded suddenly understanding " You thirsty hoe" Nate commented making Selena snort

"I just wanted to take my shot" She said pouting " Imagine me with the guy that none of the school can take. He is like the trophy on the freaking top shelf."

"And you need a ladder to pick it up so be careful with what you do" Selena mentioned

"Mason is not like the rest of the group, people say he is super cold just like this weather. If he didn't want anything with you he would make sure to say it by ignoring you like he does to generally everyone. No one knows better than Alyssa, right?" Nate asked making my heart run fast and my eyes open wide

"What?" I asked rapidly

"I mean you would know how he is, you know him since like ever right? He was with your brother since young" Nate explained making a weird smile come to my face relieved from that question

"Oh right... He is a pro at ignoring for sure" I said quickly hoping this conversation would end

"Is he gay?" Selena asked for a few moments as I tried to subtly get out of this conversation

"Oh honey definitely not" Nate responded

"He is too straight, I believe " Amy joined

"Then why was he never seen with someone?" Selena questioned

"There are rumors that he has been with some girls but nothing serious" Amy replied

"He was known by being a player" Nate mentioned

"He is like a fuck boy that would never settle down for a girl" Amy responded as I listened carefully to everything they were saying "But that's what makes it so exciting, being the one"

Nate quickly throw a punch into Amy's right arm "Ouch"

"Get a grip and stop daydreaming. Mason will never settle down for anyone" Nate replied

"are you sure?" Selena responded, we all looked at her knowing Nate was 100% sure but her disbelief tone made us interested then we realized she was looking at the chairlifts that were arriving at the top of the mountain and we all understood her question.

I couldn't believe my eyes. Mason, the boy who everyone knew as the guy who would never settle down for anyone, had reached the top of the mountain with Cady Jones by his side.

The same Cady Jones he'd flat-out denied being with at Aiden's party. And now here she was, magically appearing next to him, smiling like she belonged there.

My blood boiled. I wasn't sure if it was because of Mason's lies or something else entirely —but whatever it was, I didn't like it. Not one bit. I hated the way Cady was leaning into him like she had some claim on him like she knew she'd won.
