Fall
"So how are things with you and Raheem?" Nayelli asked me as we prepare for another day in the ER.
"About to be over, Yelli I can't do this anymore. He argues with me constantly about my work as a nurse. I believe he thinks me working as a nurse is what led to the miscarriage of our baby. Then he is still salty that it took me three times to say yes to his proposal and I haven't started any wedding planning...That's another argument and if that ain't bad enough his bitch ass sister Raquel also nags me and we get into it." I tell Nayelli before we start our rounds with our assigned doctors.
"Well sounds like it's hell and breaking up is inevitable. You need to do what makes you happy Riah and if I am honest stress is what I believe led to the miscarriage not the job, the one place you are actually stress free at. When are you thinking about ending things?" She asked me.
"Eh probably tonight, he is supposed to be going on a business trip tomorrow, which he seems to take those a lot. Every time he is away he swears I am going to cheat and makes his sister stay with me while he is gone. As if I need a babysitter, I can understand if I was big and pregnant but I didn't even make it to four months before I lost my baby. I was thinking about booking a hotel to go too after, I have already packed my bags this morning before leaving for work." I say to her.
"Nonsense, come stay with me. I have finally got rid of Patricia, it was time I mean it was way past the expiration date but she did have a wicked tongue. Anyway that is beside the point I need a new roommate one that I am not going to be fucking with and you will need a new place to stay once you break things off with Raheem." Nayelli offers and I laugh.
"We are terrible aren't we? Staying with people who we know aren't good for us just because of good sex huh?" I asked her sarcastically.
"Eh we are realist who needed stress relievers, sue us...So do you want me to come by with you when you break the news to him?" Nayelli asked me.
"Uh yeah he is in a fragile place right now I am not too sure how he would react, I mean he is definitely not like Gideon but still one domestic situation has taught me not to underestimate anyone, especially dudes who claim to love you." I say and she nods.
"By the way thanks for asking me to be your roommate, this will definitely make my commute to the hospital even more shorter too." I say to her as our assigned doctors started to enter the hall.
"Great that means you can now stay later to work with our patients right Nurse Ellis?" Dr. Colin Anderson. He was a cutie blond with blue eyes who I always found staring at me, he knows I have a man, well had a man and we have always kept things professional.
"Right Dr. Anderson." I say smiling as he smiles back at me, well it wouldn't hurt to make new friends now that my past will be resolve, will it?
Present Day
Michael's Point of View:
As I sat at my desk, grading papers, I felt the familiar sense of satisfaction that comes with seeing my students improve. The music classroom was quiet, except for the sound of my pen scratching across the pages. My thoughts drifted momentarily to Sariah and how much I was looking forward to going home to her.
We were getting closer to the wedding date as we decided to get marry on the day after Christmas. All of my family will be spending Christmas with us in our home as per Sariah's and Mother's request, and I folded.
