In the weeks following the first match, the teams made significant progress toward the top of the table, while the Ironwings struggled to maintain their lead. They traveled to play against the Ases de Sevilla and managed to secure a win, albeit by just one goal. However, their fortune changed as they suffered a loss to Melbourne and went on to only win one out of the next six games, drawing in three and losing two.
The Hurricanes went a tear winning their next six games after the loss to the Ravens. Owen Howe and Hermione Granger contributed to every goal scored in those six games including a beautiful volley from Owen connecting with Hermione's lofted pass with an overhead kick. Katie Bell seemingly had an awakening scoring 6 of the team's 12 goals in that span with her and Owen discovering a connection of their own as Owen assisted in 4 of her goals.
The Ravens seemed to have sputtered out after their big win against Hogwarts, only winning three games out of their six. Scoring four goals in six games they were only able to manage two draws and lost a game on a goal that should've been ruled offsides.
"But that's no excuse at all, we should've been playing better than we were," Coach Musselman said.
"Do you think it would've changed the game had it been ruled offsides?"
"It doesn't matter what it was ruled we were playing like crap and the loss was the result of that. The goal being ruled offside wouldn't have made us play better. You don't get some confidence boost because the goal was disallowed," he replied sternly.
After putting the team through a rigorous practice he tried to inspire something in them by giving a speech in the locker room but the room seemed dead.
Beauxbatons continued with their poor form and were sitting at the bottom of the table still without a win. Coach Dupont was on the hot seat with pressure mounting on him losing by as much as 8 goals without getting even a consolation goal. The team looked dejected even after drawing their last two games which would scarcely been seen as positive except as the team was dead last in the standings.
