With the season reaching the halfway mark the teams got a well-deserved break with no games scheduled for the next three weeks. Many teams were allowing their players to rest but Beaxbatons weren't one. They managed to find decent form picking themselves up from the bottom of the table and now finding themselves in 12th place. Their struggle to get to mid-table came with the revelation of Mattieu Moreau. Originally sat on the bench in favor of Thierry Belcourt, he got his chance when Belcourt was sat out with an ankle injury. He made the most of his chance and registered a brace against the Ases avenging their loss in the opening match. A journalist asked him about his rise to the top spot in the starting eleven and he could barely contain his smile.
"It was uh... incredibly satisfying to finally earn my spot in the starting lineup," he said when asked about it by a journalist.
Throughout the first half of the season, Katie Bell emerged as a star player alongside left-winger Cassia Rookwood. Katie's impressive form led to a goal tally of 15 in 18 appearances, while Rookwood struggled initially but found her stride, contributing 13 goals/assists in the last ten games. Unfortunately, Granger's quad injury left her sidelined for four weeks, forcing Isla Meadows to step in as the Hurricanes' main playmaker. Although Meadows was a solid replacement, she couldn't match Granger's impact, resulting in a dip in form for the team, which currently sits fourth in the table, eight points behind the leaders, the Ravens.
Over in Pittsburgh, the team experienced a turbulent period after a strong start, leading to Connor McAllister being benched in favor of Isabel Stone. While Stone didn't bring a significant improvement, she helped the Ironwings climb to sixth place in the league standings.
"How about Raleigh Arcane? They've gotta be feeling pretty good right now, sitting pretty at the top of the table, eight points clear of the preseason favorite, Hurricanes. What a run they've been on!" Scott Van Pelt said on his show "And speaking of that unbeaten run—they've been on fire ever since that tough loss to Sevilla. It's propelled them right to the top, and Ava Caldwell's been a big part of that, leading the charge with nine goals. But you've gotta talk about Maya Patel too. Her breakthrough alongside Eli Thompson has been nothing short of incredible—it's like watching a video game. That goal she scored against Melbourne? Absolutely filthy. It reminded everyone of Victor Osimhen's assist against Cagliari, but here's the kicker: while Osimhen set it up, Patel took it all the way, curving the ball into the net with the outside of her foot. Just left the fans in awe," he raved
