𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗹𝗲 𝟰𝟬𝟬𝟬

After your little escapade, you calmed down shortly. The rest of that day fortunately did not include any other interactions. You ate some exotic fish for lunch, and a wild sort of fruit for dinner. 

You had gone to sleep peacefully in another nice area, shortly after delivering another message to HQ. They were all delivered via the nen-powered phone you had. Your higher-ups gave you it for this mission, because no battery would last long enough for six damn months.

There was no wifi in a forest as fucking huge as this, and your updates were sent via a special feature the device had. You didn't exactly know how your messages went through without wifi, but you were suspecting it had something to do with someone's nen ability.

You didn't really wanna delve into that, so you never asked. All that mattered was that it let updates go through.

The next morning was a bit easier than the last. You had chosen a different spot this time, as you wouldn't make progress if you stayed in the same area. The forest was huge. You had to explore most of it, at least.

Once you had gone through your now regular routine, you quickly got to exploring. You had a compass with you, just so you could be sure you weren't going in circles, or heading somewhere you already went.

"Hmm..."

You adjusted the hood of your cloak, then progressed.

You walked forwards, seeing nothing interesting so far. You didn't really want to stop at intricate looking plants anymore, after what happened last time. 

Trotting through the viridescent atmosphere, you were yet to see anything odd. You sighed softly, both grateful and annoyed. You were here to hunt, or at least study magical beasts. What the hell was the point if-

"...urrghh..."

You froze up, eyes darting around. You very quickly noticed the flickering aura presence behind a tree. After a short second of contemplating, you began to slowly stalk towards it.

You weren't very nervous, because a flickering presence always meant an individual was close to death. You were more curious, really.

Finally getting around the thick stalk of the redwood tree, you stared at the sight before you.

"...Oh," you mumbled.

The corpse of what you believed was a fiend of sorts. It was mostly cindered, while a few parts were still ablaze with faint, dwindling flickers of pink fire.

Pink fire. Pyrokinesis was an ability more common in incubi. You were well aware of that fact.

From what you could get out the mostly mangled demon body, the hair was black and very short. Looking slightly closer, it appeared to be a male, but you couldn't tell when so much was just exposed raw flesh.

You had seen enough gore while on the job, but you still grimaced. You were debating whether or not to just end the thing's life.

"Uhh..."

The half-dead fiend mumbled something broken.

"F...feed..."

You perked up, stepping back a bit. You didn't speak, and simply waited for something to happen. The body writhed some more.

"...feed!"

He jumped at you, and you flinched back, pulling out your gun and shooting the demon in the head. He stopped moving afterwards, and you sighed quietly. 

You gazed at the corpse, seeing it fade away. You were confused. An incubus killing a fiend was pretty unheard of, because they were two distinct creatures with distinct functions.

You stared at the creature another time, making sure it was dead. Once you validated your assumption, you slowly continued walking. 

You noted to yourself that you should tell HQ about this, since it's kinda valuable. As you walked forwards, you reached into your bag and pulled the device out, opening the app.

You typed it in quickly, hitting send. Just as you were gonna put the device away, you paused at a notification. What the hell? Why is it saying there's an available Wifi network? You're in the middle of a damn forest. That literally isn't possible.

Out of genuine confusion, you tapped on the notification. It brought you to the settings app.

You stared at the title of the one available network in absolute bewilderment. A bit appalled, honestly.

"...What the FUCK is 'Foreskin wrinkle twinkle 4000.'"
