Gon, Killua, and Leorio sign up for a hunt for the Phantom Troupe.

After Leorio had the great idea to use me in the meantime for the arm-wrestling competition, I was able to earn some jenny for offering my help. That's how I was able to eat at least something before starving to death again, the lunch that Gon and Killua got me only helped temporarily with that big appetite of mine. Even the two boys were kind enough to drag me to their hotel after they found out that I didn't have anywhere to sleep and just freshly arrived in Yorknew City. I was really lucky to come across such adventurous and good hearted kids that day.

Sadly I wasn't able to come across the mysterious trio since the other night. Killua and Gon couldn't tell me either who that one woman was that participated in the competition after me, but they were just as equally curious as me in that regard. We agreed to meet every other day until they would leave the city again. When they asked me if I wanted to stay in York New, I actually didn't know how to reply.

Did I want to stay here? For a bit, sure, but not for too long if it actually turns out to be rather unspectacular here and I have a new goal to settle with. At least I found out some more interesting things when they told me that there is going to be a big underground auction here soon and since a friend of theirs had business there, they decided to meet up again at this particular time and location. I mainly perked up in interest at the mention of a dangerous group of thieves, but they didn't disclose any other information about it. Even when I asked they would just shrug it off or look in different directions.

With my intense stare, Gon was the first one to crack before Killua swung his fist down his head followed by a hissing fit.

"Can't you just shut up for once?! Maybe she's one of them too, you know?"

Gon quickly realized his error and stared at me with a sheepish smile before poking his tongue out.

"Sorry Killua..." he rubbed the back of his head, "but she seems too nice, even with that strength." With this, Killua started to berate his friend again right in front of me although I was the topic of the argument, yet more confused than offended. What really got to me was what Gon said last.

"I'm nice?"

"Huh?"

Both of them stopped their little argument in bewilderment to look at me with blank stares. Briefly exchanging eye contact again. "Yes, you're very nice..?" Gon was confused, stating his answer like a question. Confusion stemming from the fact that this was what I focused on despite the current debate.

Right, I should go back to that.

"She's only playing it, dumbass."

Nevermind.

Attention immediately flipped back when Killua declared his observation oh so proudly, but with the root of precaution that he held behind his sharp eyes the moment since I invaded this little troupe for my own enjoyment.

I nodded towards him, paying the well deserved respect for his quick-witted mind in amusement. "Not bad, but I happen to have a soft spot for kids. So being nice is actually not that hard."

Gon was completely clueless, staring questioningly at the both of us but we only silently closed our eyes in agreement with double edged smiles. I already easily depicted that Gon was the enhancer type, but it took me a little longer to see that Killua seems to be a transmuter. He was sly and clever, but his eyes confirmed to me that he still hasn't figured me out yet.

Which leads back to the distrust that he openly shared.

"Well, who do I belong to now? That little group that you mentioned?" I asked to cut the tension and push the previous topic back to the front.
