What's Wrong With The Villain!?

Chapter 1

"Yes! It's done!"

I yelled, my voice echoing through the cafe. Three freaking weeks of late nights and endless revision had finally paid off. The satisfaction waving around my body cleanse the tiredness I been kept.

"Uhmm... Sir...can you keep your voice down? You are disturbing other customers"

The waiter gently remain me, his voice was polite yet firm. I blinked, snapping back into reality, nodded in response as I realized the other customers were staring at me even glared at me for being noisy. It was understandable action from them. The waiter give me a small, understanding smile and go back to his duties.

Ugh... I shouldn't yelled....now people looking at me like that.....

I quickly shut my laptop, shoved it in my bag and decided it was time to leave. The excitement of finishing my novel had turned into an awkwardness.

My name is Kevin. I'm not one of those bestselling authors who can afford a penthouse apartment with a view of the city skyline. I’m just a typical pnovelist, grinding away in a bustling city that barely notices my existence. My income isn't anything to brag about, but I’ve managed to publish two novels. It's enough to keep my dream alive, if not exactly thriving.

In my free time, I play an otome games to get a few inspiration but it's quickly lost charms. Almost all the otome games I play has the same route but there was one particular otome games that caught my attention. The game called, Omega Destiny. The named was a little bit not that surprising but the story was fascinating yet there was few predictable scenarios. Judging from the game title, everyone would know this story would be about an omegaverse world but for my surprise it also in royalty theme.

Thinking about that game, I had a tiny feeling to play it again although I already play it many times, but I'm not obsess like those girls. The game popularity rate increase each month since the game only target audience who are an adult, like me. The company of that game also selling a merch but I'm definitely not going to buy it, cause the design was ugly like my father face.

I pull out my phone from my pocket. Then, I saw a lot of messages from my father.

Speak of the devil.....

I scrolled through the message he gave me. He was furious with me since I don't give him any money this month, if I would give a damn about him.

"Tsk.... Can he stop asking me for money"

I muttered under my breath, sighed in frustration. Being the only person who working hard in the family wasn't that fun, rather exhausting. I work my ass off for two side jobs although I am a novelist. I thought my passion for writing could be a great escape from the hell I been living, yet it need a lot of patience. Anyway, I did make a saving for myself and a little more, I will definitely manage to left them.

Another notification buzzed in my phone, interrupting my thought but this time it was that game.

"Huh? There's an update?"

I raised my eyebrows, felt intrigued. I open the game application to see a new features got added in the game. Players now can choose the villain as the love interest which unlock a secret ending.

"Wow.... This is new! I should play it now!"

I muttered to myself, feeling the electrical of excitement through my body.

I found a nearby park bench and settled in, the last of daylight fading into the evening. The park was nearly empty, with only a few kids playing, their parents told them to finish up.

I placed my backpack beside me and launched the game. In this game, you can choose your gender whether you want to be female or male. I always choose the female character since she was quite cute and gorgeous, and that made her my go-to choice every time. One of the game’s unique features called Special Power which can help player to increase their affection toward the male leads. I selected the same power I always used, confident it would give me an edge.

Let's see if we can seduce the villain!

3 hours later....

"Fuck! Damn it!!!!!"

I yelled again, but I realized the park is already empty except for the cat that flinched because of my sudden outburst. I glared at my phone screen.

"Ugh.... Why it so damn hard to seduce the villain! He keep killing me off! Is this some kind of sadistic hard mode!?"

I cursed under my breath many times but finally let out a frustrated sighed. I didn't expect that to make a love interest toward the villain would be this damn hard. Each choice I make, he would kill me and lead me to the bad ending.

"Stupid villain...."

I rolled my eyes and turn off the game. I felt frustrated by it so I give up. I afraid if I keep continue, I will smash my precious phone into the ground, very hard.

I left the park as I make my way to return home since it was already dark. I can see the moon vividly at the night sky, it's pretty.

As I walked, lost in thought, a flash of white caught my eye. A small white cat darted out into the road, chasing something unseen. At the same moment, I heard the roar of a truck barreling down the street. Panic seized me, and without thinking, I bolted forward.

"Hey!"

I shouted, though the cat wouldn’t understand. My legs moved on their own as I lunged toward the cat, my heart pounding in my chest. I managed to push the cat out of the way, but before I could react, the truck slammed into me.

Pain exploded through my body, and everything seemed to slow down. My vision blurred, dark spots dancing at the edges. I felt myself falling, the world fading as my eyes grew heavy.

Is this... it? I still need to send my novel ending to my supervisor......

My thoughts scattered as the darkness closed in, and the last thing I heard was the distant sound of the truck's horn, echoing into nothingness.
