Vox felt chills down his spine when he heard the sound of the violin play throughout the band room and outside of the door. But no one played violin. He shrugged, thinking it was probably an adult or whatever.
He walked towards the doors of the band room, taking a few steps inside as his eyes widened. The person who was playing that violin was Alastor.
He seemed so focused. Not to mention so skilled. Vox wouldn't have normally cared but felt his breath catch in his throat, watching as Alastor directed the bow and his fingers dancing along the strings of the violin.
The teacher finished playing the piano, a smile on his face seeming satisfied with how well Alastor played his instrument.
"Bravo Alastor! You will be a great addition to our orchestra! I've always been trying to find someone to pair with.."
The band director found Vox in the corner of his eye his smile growing wider.
"Vox! Come here! We have someone new joining our little club after school!"
As Alastor heard the name that belonged to the boy that had just walked in, he sighed frustratedly as he rolled his eyes. Vox walked closer towards them, eyeing Alastor seeing how irritated he seemed.
"Vox, meet Alastor. He seems to be such a talented violinist! He's new so I assume you haven't met him yet."
Alastor and Vox continued to look at each other with irritation and spite in their eyes. Vox was infuriated Alastor was still irritated with him despite feeling the same about him as well. The band director cleared his throat, clearly noticing the strange tension between the two.
"As I was saying, I have a surprise!"
Vox raised his eyebrow, barely intrigued as Alastor looked away.
"Vox, since I know you don't like the art of violins, I've decided to pair you up with Alastor during our clubs moving forward!"
Vox's eyes widened as Alastor tensed up. Alastor looked at the band director with shock and disbelief all over his face. He clutched his violin tighter before trying to compose himself.
"I apologize but him?"
"Really teach? him?"
The two spoke at the same time, a flash of annoyance striking across both their faces.
"Hm, seems you two are already getting along. I wanted to pair you two so you both can better understand the other's beauty of their instrument! The two instruments may be vastly different but when mixed together makes masterpiece!"
The two clearly weren't happy with their pair, seeing how no one else was paired either. Vox hated the fact that now he had to spend more time with this quiet strange kid. Alastor hated how he was paired with an obnoxious and loud boy.
Even worse was that the two spited the other's instrument but now seeming that the spite was the reason for this in the first place.
"I expect you two to get to playing now, find some pieces you two think you'll both enjoy. I want to see you both not only improve on your own instruments, but take inspiration in the other."
The band director placed a hand on both their backs, ushering them into the instrument locker room.
"If you don't get along I see that you both get kicked out alright? Have fun!"
The band director shut the door, a loud sigh escaping Alastor. He gritted his teeth, hating how he had to be in the same room with this idiot alone for an hour.
"I'd rather be kicked out than have to sit with you for an hour.."
Alastor muttered, his eyes drifting off to the side as he obviously didn't care for Vox at all.
