-Vox Pov-

I Immediately looked away from her, regretting what I had said. 'What the Fuck Vox? You barely know her, So fucking Stupid' I thought to myself, internally panicking.
"I'll give you some time to think about it, it's not everyday you go to a royal ball." I tried to sound calm, but had a feeling she could see right through me.
"I'll think about it." She said and paused, the one comforting silence was not awkward and tense.
"We should head back inside, wouldn't want to keep Vel waiting." She said and headed towards the door.
"You go ahead and go on in, I've got to make a phone call quickly." I lied, I just needed a second to process this all. When I heard the back door shut behind her I leaned against the side of the house and rubbed the corner of my screen.

"What was I thinking?" I said to myself "why do you think she would want to go with you? She barely knows who you are."

"Why do I feel this way about her?"

-Vixens Pov-

I quietly shut the back door and walked down the hall a bit before I just sat against the wall. I tucked my knees to my chest and just sat, I tried to breathe steady. 'Vox wants ME to be HIS date to Lucifer's royal ball?' I felt like I was just going to explode with happiness. 'He wanted to go with ME.' 'He could've asked anyone else to go, but be asked me.'

I sat for another moment, contemplating my answer. Should I really go? I feel like I would be out of place.

I sighed, stood up and walked into the living room. Vel was folding the blanket she was using and val was scrolling through his phone.

"Hey I think I'm gonna head home. I'll see you tomorrow" I said
"What? driving home this late? Just stay the night, it wouldn't hurt." She said, I could tell she really did want to stay. But I couldn't bear being around vox until I gave him his answer.

"I think it's best I go, thank you again vel."
"Where's vox?" Val asked, finally looking up from his phone.
"He said he had to make a phone call." I replied, gathering whatever I had brought and shoving it in my pocket. Before anyone could say anything else I ran out the door as fast as my legs could carry me.

-The next day//at the studio//-

I was distracted by my own thoughts, anything anyone said went in one ear and out the other. I had been thinking about what vox had said. I knew I had feelings for him, but it hurt to admit it. The last time I was in love with someone, they hurt me. How do I know that Vox won't do the same. I was conflicted, 'it's not like he's asking to marry you or anything, he's just asking you to go to a Royal ball that only happens once every Ten years, that he's NEVER brought a plus one to Ever. It's nothing' I was lost in thought, my mind was racing, I didn't even notice Vanessa come up behind me.
" Hey, I've been calling you for like ten minutes, Velvette needs you real quick, I would hurry, she's all pissy today.

It took me a moment to process what she had said, before I could respond I felt her hand on my shoulder. My body involuntarily flinched and I whipped my head around and stared at her for a second.

"Woah woah woah, are you okay? You look like you're gonna pass out." She said, immediately removing her hand.
"I- I'm fine, just tired, I'll go see her, sorry." Before she could respond I walked into the studio.
"You needed me vel?" My head felt heavy and I could feel my hands getting sweaty. She looked up from her for before almost dropping it when she looked at me
"Yeah took you long en-" "holy shit Vix, you look like you're gonna pass out, come sit down now" she immediately pushed me towards the couch.
"I feel fine, vel I promise." I tried to object but she wasn't having it.

"No you sit now, shit- MELISSA GO GET SOME WATER!" She yelled.

"Velvette, really I'm just tired, it's fine." I continued to protest, I hated when people worried about me.
"No your not fine, what the fuck is wrong." She had sat down next to me and was fixing some stray hairs on my head.
"Vel-"
"You better not try to deny it, you're never like this, I can tell somethings wrong. And I can't help if you don't tell me." This was the most serious I had ever seen velvette, she seemed very concerned about me. I paused for a moment, too scared to say anything.
"It's just some shit that happened a long time ago. That's all. I'm tired and haven't slept, I just need to work and focus on something other than myself." I was pulling words out of thin air, and velvette could tell.
"Why are you lying to me?" She sounded hurt. My ears started to ring, I couldn't be here, I needed to leave, I stood up and basically ran out the door. I was just out the door of the vels office when I saw vox, walking out of the elevator with. Him.
