My Hero

Chapter 1

Beach day. It had been forever since the boys were able to get out of their stressful responsibilities and unwind a bit.

After the promotions ended, the company gave them two weeks off. For the first week, they visited their families and just spent time alone to get some much needed space. Once everyone finally came back to the dorms, they were, how you would say, bored. Of course, they loved being able to relax, but they also wanted to relax by having fun, not sitting in their disastrous dorms.

Jisung had had enough of the moping when he informed the members about how his parents used to take him to this beach as a kid. Their ears perked at the news and of course begged Chan to ask the manager if they could go. Even though they were allowed to travel as they pleased, their manager needed to know where they were at all times.

Chan liked the idea, so he called up the manager and they were able to get a car and Minho offered to drive. So it was settled. Stray Kids were going to the beach. No bodyguards, no cameras, no idol responsibilities. Just 8 kids having fun together.

"Hwang Hyunjin! If you are not down here in 10 seconds I will hand you over to Minho-hyung!" Changbin shouted from the bottom of the stairs.

"I am going as fast as I can!" Hyunjin retorted back. "Well go faster! Everyone else has been ready for an hour!"

At last Hyunjin emerged from his room and hurried down the stairs, three bags in tow. "Okay, I'm ready now."

"We're going to the beach for the day, not the week." He was flabbergasted by the amount of items the younger needed for one day.

"How do you think this" He gestured to his entire being, "stays like this?"

"Chnagbin rolled his eyes and walked to the front door. "If I had known you sooner I might've been able to help you grow a couple more inches." Hyunjin teased before being chased out of the house. "Yah!"

Everyone else had been situating their items into the trunk and finding their seats. The beach was only about a 20 minute drive, so they weren't too worried about Hyunjin being Hyunjin. Felix and Jeongin were in the back seat watching something on Felix's phone, not even worried about the screaming coming from the house. Seungmin was putting the bags in the trunk, getting annoyed at Hyunjin for taking so long. Chan was half tempted to go drag Hyunjin out of the house, but he trusted Changbin to get him out soon. Minho was in the driver's seat, eyes closed trying to tune out the noise and Jisung had his earbuds in in the passenger seat, ignoring the others.

"Hyung just put the bags in the trunk and get in before I pop a vein from Changbins loud voice." Seungmin ushered once Hyunjin reached the vehicle. Changbin followed right after glaring at the younger before hopping next to Jeongin in the back.

Once the trunk was closed Chan, Seungmin, and Hyunjin piled in the middle. Minho peaked behind him to make sure they were all settled before finally taking off.

Everyone managed to stay quiet and not fuss the entire time, which was a miracle, so they arrived a little early. They parked and grabbed all of their necessary stuff and went to find a spot on the beach. They chose a farther spot so there wouldn't be many people. To make it better there weren't many people on this side, so there was more room.

"Let's go!" Jeongin screeched, grabbing a volleyball and tossing it to Seungmin as they both ran off towards the water. There was a readily available net for them to use already. "Hey I wanna join!" Changbin pouted and ran to them.

"I am going to set up the umbrella and the blanket." Minho uttered, grabbing said items. "I'll help." Chan said with a smile.

"Hyunjin-hyung, Felix-hyung, we need more players!" Jeongin yelled.

"Let me put on sunscreen and I will be over there! It's like you people want this beautiful face to be ruined." He scoffed, continuing to his routine.

Jisung gathered the other items to put by the blanket and went with the other two.

Finally everything was finished and so Chan decided to be a little naughty. He knew Hyunjin had just applied his sunscreen and so he decided to walk over, grab his arm, and drag him into the water, where he was pushed down and soaked up.

The only thing Jisung saw as he walked down to their area was a fully clothed soaking wet Hyunjin run waddling after a half clothed completely dry Chan. He immediately understood what happened and smirked.

'Are you not going to get in the water, hyung?" He sat down next to Mimho who was lying on his back shirtless and on his phone. "Nah. I don't want to make them have to look after me."

"You know they don't mind right?" Jisung flipped onto his stomach to look at the other better. Minho set down his phone and turned his head to Jisung. "You guys need to have fun. I can have fun on land just as much as I would in the water."

Jisung giggled and stood up and bid Minho his goodbyes before heading towards the water. Everyone else had made their way into the water, the volleyball long gone and the chasing at an end.

"Jisung, come protect me! Seungmin is being mean!" Chan called out as the other entered the water.

"All I said was be careful since you're old. We can't have you breaking a hip from running around too much." Jisung let out a laugh as Chan hid behind him.

"Yah Changbinnie make sure not to go too far or we won't be able to see you." Hyunjin teased as he walked farther out with a sinking Changbin in tow.

"But do be careful going out too far. Jisung especially, your leg isn't up for swimming long distances yet." Jisung nodded.

A couple of days into the promotions Jisung fell during a fansign and bruised his leg. It wasn't a bad injury, but it got sore when he walked around too much or strained it.

"Does everyone have their buddy!" Chan shouted as everyone started parting ways. They had made a buddy system prior to the trip so it was easy to keep track.

"My buddy is going to be in the same spot the entire day." Jisung spoke, pointing to Minho, who was probably asleep under the umbrella.

"Well my buddy is about to strangle Hyunjin so Jeongin might have a little problem." Seungmin stated as Changbin was grabbing Hyunjins shoulder trying to push him under.

"And my buddy is staring into the sun, so be right back." Chan sighed and swam over to Felix who was literally staring into the sun, squinting.

Jisung watched the others do their own things and was starting to get hungry. "I am going to get the food ready!" The others give him a thumbs up and so he walks out of the water and over to the umbrella to set up their lunch.

He poked Minho's side and the older squirmed around before opening his eyes. "Why hello there." Jisung smiled while Minho groaned and sat up.

"Help me get the food ready." Minho nodded and went to the car to grab the cooler with the drinks, while Jisung unwrapped the sandwiches they made this morning.

Minho came back with the cooler in hand and set it down in the shade. "Alright. I helped." He said before lying back down on his phone. Jisung snickered and continued unwrapping the food.

After a couple of minutes Jisung hollered for them to come eat and everyone made their way out. Minho, worried they would forget to dry off before stepping on the blanket, threw towels at them all as they got closer.

"How thoughtful." Felix teased. "I was thinking of the blanket."
