"Wag kang lumipat diyan.
At first, he didn't mind the adults ushering their children away from him like the plague. The irony of it all is that children seem to be drawn towards him for whatever reason.
One event occured while Eastwood celebrated its founding anniversary. That was the one night Peter decided to get out to watch the festivities. At least he won't be noticed as a much, plus the fact that the food are way cheaper at times like these.
She looked no older than ten. At first he was tempted to just ignore her, but the kid started crying. Nasty looks were thrown at him.
Peter sighed and tried to stop the girl from crying. Even buying her a cotton candy from the nearest vendor.
"Sige. Saan mo ba siya huling nakita?"
Peter wasn't good with children, but he tried his best.
The disgust in her eyes were burning onto his skin.
People started whispering, looking at him like he was nothing more than a dead weight in this society.
That evening, Peter forgot all about the festivities and helping others.
.
.
."Because even Neverland doesn't want him back."
He felt Jester gently guiding him out of the waters. Ramdam niya ang kuryosidad at galit sa mga tingin ng Lost Boys, but that was the least of his worries.
'Am I that unwanted?' Isip-isip niya habang pilit inaalala ang kanyang kabataan.
But the mental block was keeping him from remembering anything about Neverland. Nothing.
'Have I been here before?'
"Are you alright?"
Peter felt Jester's concerned gaze on him. That's when he noticed Jester was still holding his hands, caressing them in a soothing manner that made a blush crawl on his cheeks.
"I-I'm fine," mabilis nitong sagot at binawi ang kanyang mga kamay.
"I know you're 'fine'. Quite good-looking, actually," Jester smiled. That bastard doesn't know what he's talking about. Don't take it personally, alright? You are welcomed inside the sanctuary. Ancestors be damned."
'Well, it's fuking hard not to take things personally when everyone seems to dislike you,' Peter wanted to add, but he chose against it.
"Then how do you want me to take that? Professionally? Emotionally? Mentally? Legally?" He just sarcastically replied.
Natawa naman ang fae. "Ikaw bahala. Things will get better soon, believe in that like how you once believed in fairies."
"Hey, how about a tour?
"Okay."
Peter agreed and took his hand. He doesn't even know why it's bothering him so much even when this is the first time he's been here!
Or maybe this really wasn't the first time he's been in Neverland?
*
His translucent wings glimmered against the glowing gemstones that were growing from the wooden walls of the Hangman's Tree. Magical and majestic like him.
"So imagine my amazement when I saw a similar game in the mortal realm."
The rooms looked like they were carved out of the wooden interior of the tree, flourished with gold and lavish things.
"Can I go in?"
"Sure. Be my guest."
He walked towards it out of instinct, his shadow suddenly flickering beneath him in warning.
He opened the glass windows and let the cool breeze in. The window overlooked forest where they came from last night.
"That's the Fae Graveyard."
Jester now had a serious look on his face as he confirmed Peter's fears.
"Where all the other fairies were buried in the war following your disappearance. I'm the only survivor."
