"Are we almost there?"
Impa sighed.
"Dorfie, you've been asking this for half an hour. You aren't tired, are you?" she asked with a hint of irony.
"I'm not! Who do you take me for? A great adventurer like me doesn't get tired this easily. Link is the one who's tired cause he's got short legs"
Link glanced at him. Compared to his father's exhausting training sessions, that was nothing. They had left at dawn and, led by Impa, they had entered a secret passage, hidden into the mountain. They had been walking for at least an hour by then. The path wasn't too harsh, it seemed like it had been created human-sized. But that landscape of those tunnels was really boring: rock, rock and rock again. A Sticky Lizard crossed the way once in a while. Link too was starting to get bored.
"Oi Link, let's play a game!" suggested Ganondorf.
"I say a color and you'll have to look for something with that color! Next, if you found it, it's your turn to pick a color. Are you in?"
Link nodded.
"Mom, are you playing too?"
"It's better if I focus on the path, it's a maze down here . Also, if some monster were to attack, I must be ready to react."
"Monsters?" exclaimed Ganindorf, his eyes shining with excitement.
"I hope they come out soon! Link and I can't wait to fight!" he said grabbing Link arm in arm. Link looked at him, not convinced, but didn't say anything.
"Then I'll let you know if I see any, meanwhile you two think about your game" said Impa to distract him.
"Aaaaalright. So Link... Find somenthiiiiing... yellow!"
Link looked around. A little mushroom was coming up behind a rock. He pointed at it.
"Good, but that was easy, as a trial. By the way, now it's your turn."
Link thought about it for a minute.
"Purple"
"Purple?? How do I find something purple down here? It's not fair, you have to pick colors that are possible to find, otherwise it's not funny!" complained Ganondorf.
In response Link pointed at it. A little purple dot was shining up there, near the ceiling of the cave.
"What's that?"
"No idea... But it is purple." answered Link.
"What are you looking at?" asked Impa raising her glaze.
"OH SHIT!"
Before she could finish talking, a huge stone crashed a few steps away from them. The purple dot expanded, accompanied by a monstrous scream, until the figure emerged from the shadows. A one eyed giant staring at them, not quite happy.
"We ended up into an Hinox' lair!" exclaimed Impa.
"You had one job, mom!"
"Shut up brat, the path is the right one, but these tunnels have been abandoned for at least a century, it's not rare that monsters build their lair here."
Another stone crashed closer.
"What I'm explaining it for! Get ready to run!"
"Eeeeeh? But it's not fair, we wanna fig..."
Link grabbed him, throwing himself to the side just in time to avoid being crushed by the Hinox arm. Impa exchanged a grateful look with Link. Then she took out two kunais from the bag tied up to her waist.
