Summer 2018

This is the second year Azzi and Paige will be playing together for Team USA in the FIBA U17. They are more excited than ever because this time around, they get to play alongside each other as best friends. Azzi and Paige were on the court, practicing hard for the U17. They were having a blast, teasing each other and exchanging playful trash talk. "Bet you can't make that shot, Paige!" Azzi laughed. Paige grinned, effortlessly sinking a three-pointer. "Is that all you got, Azzi?" she shot back. They continued their drills, executing perfect pick-and-rolls and nailing alley-oops, all while their chemistry and playful banter kept the energy high. Despite the fun, their skills shone through, making each practice session both productive and enjoyable. The whole team and staff saw their dynamic as being the most special of them all. 

Day of the Final Game

They won the gold medal and celebrated together with the team. Azzi and Paige hugged each other tightly, their smiles beaming with pride and joy. The whole team joined in, cheering and laughing, as they were all holding hands when taking a picture with their gold medals. It was a moment of pure happiness, shared with their best friends and teammates. After the celebration, Azzi and Paige walked towards their families, sweat glistening on their foreheads. Paige nudged Azzi playfully and whispered, "You know, you're my MVP." Azzi blushed, a shy smile spreading across her face avoiding eye contact as she did not want Paige to see how affected she was by her. Their families noticed the interaction and exchanged curious glances, wondering what had sparked Azzi's sudden bashfulness. 

Christmas 2018

As the sun peeked through the curtains, casting a warm glow in the room. Azzi was still snuggled under the covers, wanting to catch a few more minutes of sleep. Meanwhile, Paige was already wide awake, her excitement palpable. She bounced on the bed beside Azzi, trying to wake her up. "Come on, Azzi! It's Christmas! Time to open presents!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Paigeeee, let me sleep some more please" Azzi tried to plead with the blonde with a groan, pulling the blanket over her head, but Paige's enthusiasm was infectious. With a playful tug, Paige managed to get Azzi out of bed, and they both headed to the living room. Azzi's parents had let her stay in Minnesota with Paige for winter break as the best friends hadn't seen each other since the summer. Now getting to experience their first Christmas together, they can't contain their excitement. Paige forces Azzi to sit down on the sofa while she herself sits on the living room floor next to her little brother Drew that was equally excited as his sister. The tree was beautifully decorated, and the sight of the presents waiting to be unwrapped brought a smile to Azzi's face. Despite her initial reluctance, Azzi couldn't help but feel the joy and magic of Christmas morning, especially with Paige by her side. Paige handed Azzi her first gift. With a smile, Azzi unwrapped a pink polaroid camera from her parents, something she had been wanting for a while. She couldn't wait to start capturing magical memories with it. Next, she opened the other gift from her parents, revealing a cozy purple, oversized sweater that she immediately put on. The next gift had belonged to her brothers, opening it was a magic maker ice cream for kids. Giggling at the sight of the gift, she went to show Paige who was already looking at her and equally laughing. Her brothers knowing how much of an obsession she has for ice cream, they thought it would be perfect for her, by creating her own delicious flavors at home. Azzi's heart swelled with gratitude and happiness. Jon and Jose might still be in middle school but they went out of their way to get such a thoughtful gift for their sister. 

Paige had received a signed Kyrie Irving card from her dad which she just might keep in her wallet from now on for good luck. A written card from Drew explaining the extend of his love for her, Azzi also receiving a similar one in the process. The gifts from her mom and siblings will be open once she goes visits them in January. Paiges family all went to gather in the kitchen to cook some Christmas worthy breakfast leaving only Azzi and Paige glued to their spots.
