Annabeth POV
I woke up to find myself hugging Percy, and Percy hugging me back. I decided not to get up, this was nice. I pulled myself closer, and shut my eyes again.I felt him shift a little at this, dang it, I had woken him up.
"Hey, you should get back to your cabin, they'll be missing you." He told me. I sighed and clambered out of the bed.
"Can you mist travel me back? The whole cabin is loaded with traps for any unwanted visitors. Considering I just woke up, it may not be the best time to go in." He shrugged, and waved his hand, sending me back. Luckily my siblings were still sleeping. I creeped to my bunk, grabbed yet another orange shirt, jean shorts, and clambered out the window. Running to the showers, I freshened up, and changed. Coming out, I saw Percy waiting for me.
"Mind showing me around camp? I don't plan to be completely lost going to me activities." I smiled.
"You never are Percy. Hestia probably already sent you a mental map or something." Percy shrugged.
"It was more of a description than anything." I punched him lightly on the shoulder.
"Idiot." He laughed.
"Just take me to the beach? There's something I need to tell you." I raised an eyebrow but started walking.
"This way, and you better be quick, everybody goes here in the morning, we won't have a lot of time." He nodded.
---
Entering the beach, it looked especially beautiful today. Percy walked up to the water and stuck his fingertips in. Chuckling, he withdrew it again.
"The fish say hi, and that you're very pretty." He cocked his head toward the water again, then blushed profoundly.
"Hush." He told the water.
"What did they say now?" I asked, holding back a giggle.
"Nothing." He grumbled.
"Now, there's something I didn't tell everybody last night. After I was tied to the necklace, it wasn't just... Dark for a long time. I met someone. Her name was Melinoe." I held up a hand to stop him.
"As in Melinoe, goddess of ghosts?"
"She also ended up with the domain of lost souls, which is how we met. She is always facing suspicion, like Hades. Goddess of ghosts, can't be a good deity right? The thing is, she has never had children for fear they would face the same ostracization she does. That's also the reason she never interacts with heroes. If we were to tell anybody, she would immediately be brought in for questioning, and knowing the Olympian council, they wouldn't listen to a thing she said. I could bear witness, but my word wouldn't be taken seriously, because of my age. Hestia doesn't get enough say, she would be seen as though she was simply taking pity on us. Rhea can't get involved, too much family drama there. Melinoe would most likely be tossed into Tartarus. She's perpetually stuck in the shadows, and she's fading because of it." He finished quickly. I furrowed my brow.
"How are we supposed to stop it?" Percy looked me in the eye.
"We have to clear her name, prove she cares about heroes, and that she's not corrupting them. She says if her guess is accurate, we have around five years." My brain went moving, trying to figure out what it all meant.
"We have until we're twelve then." Percy nodded again.
"Correct, and I have a suspicion we won't need much of a push when it's time to start." I heard the breakfast bell ring.
"Come on, let's go."

Percy POV
Camp breakfast was good I'll admit it. Annabeth and I ended up having the same schedule, so that was a bonus. Still, nobody quite trusted me. Stares bore into my back. I ignored them, first up was Sword Fighting down at the arena. Of course, I was first. A kid named Damien was our instructor. I didn't like him. He was too cocky, to confident, and arrogance leaked off him more heavily than water would leak into the canyon if Hoover Dam broke.
"So Percy, is it? The son of Ares called, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Look at you, you managed to remember it. Good job." I said snarkily, at his patronizing tone. His eyes narrowed.
"Lets get started them, get a sword." He stepped aside showing a rack of them all hung up behind him. A sort of malice gleamed in his eyes, he was sure he would beat me, and would savor it more than the normal win after I had insulted him so publicly. Good, so he hadn't seen last night.
"I have my own sword, thank you for the offer. Are powers allowed?" I asked.
"Why do you ask? So you can cheat?" He said back. I sighed, and pinched the bridge of my nose, closing my eyes and counting to ten, before opening them again.
"First of all, I asked to be informed so you couldn't claim I cheated had I used them to fight. Second, you're an idiot with an ego bigger than Zeus's, and third, aren't you mature enough to back off from a verbal smackdown with a seven year old?" Gasps rang out after I had so blatantly thrown around Zeus's name. I rolled my eyes, if he wanted to fight me, he could be my guest. I had a bone to pick with him. Damien's eyes narrowed.
"No powers. Lets see if the tyke has the bite to back his bark." I shrugged, and pulled Riptide out from my pocket.
"What are you gonna do with a pen, write on me?" He said, goading me. I uncapped it, and it sprang to full length.
"As I said. Idiot." I took my stance, and Damien followed suit. I decided to make the first move, surprising him. I lunged, rolling, and using the butt of the weapon to make a dent in the armor. He slammed his sword down, stabbing at where I had just been.
"Nice try." I lept up, flipping and coming down elegantly behind him, where I knocked his sword out of his hand, sending it clattering to the ground. I picked it up swiftly, before he could react. Pointing Riptide at the back of his neck, and the other in the front, I stopped.
"Do you yield?" He opened his mouth and through gritted teeth managed a spiteful,
"Yes." I took a step back, and held his weapon out, hilt first.
"Thanks for playing."

Question about this, I may just make it a very long one-shot, but I wouldn't mind making it into a full length fan-fic if you guys will read it. Please say what you would prefer on this in the comment. That would be all for now.
