Oswald got home and saw The Yellow Rabbit on the couch. He tried treating it like it was his Dad as a way to experiment with himself. "Hey, Dad." Oswald calmly said. The Yellow Rabbit growled at him. Then Oswald went to his room. He pet his cat that was lying on this bed and waited patiently to be called down for dinner. Then he had an idea. What if he returned to Jeff's and went into the pit again to find his dad? He went back to the living room to see if The Yellow Rabbit was there. He wasn't. Oswald quietly walked to the front door. When he grabbed the door knob, The Yellow Rabbit grabbed him and pointed at the table. He made dinner. Then Mom walked in. They sat down for dinner. During a certain time, The Yellow Rabbit walked away to do something. "So, have you made any new friends yet?" Mom asked Oswald.
"Actually, yeah. On the way home yesterday, i met a girl in high school. Her name was Millie." Oswald told Mom.
"Oh, look at you! See, making new friends isn't that hard." Mom told him. Oswald rolled his eyes. Then The Yellow Rabbit came back, brushing his hands off like he was wiping water off. After dinner, Oswald asked to go on a walk and he went to Jeff's. But he remembered how the arcades were when he was on the 1985 time. So before he went into the ball pit, Oswald went to the arcade room. "Maybe if these worked, the place would be jumping a bit. Even without the robots." Oswald said. He saw a screwdriver on the ground and he took it. He started to work on them. After a few hours, Jeff walked in. "Hey kid, I..." Jeff stopped when he saw Oswald come up from behind a machine. "Hey Jeff."
"What did you do?" He asked. Oswald popped a token he found into the ski ball machine and it came on. "You fixed them? Are you kidding me?" Jeff asked. "How did you learn to do this? Where did you learn to do this?" Jeff asked.
"Watching Dad fix things." Oswald told him.
"Wow! I...thanks kid. This place might start to boom a little bit now. Anyway, I'm about to close so i came to get you." Jeff told him. Oswald still wanted to go to the pit, but he had to put that on hold for now. So he went home. On the way home, he remembered he still has to text Millie. After Oswald returned, he went to his room and texted Millie.
Oswald: hey. It's Oswald.
Millie: hey Oswald! Took you long enough to text!
Oswald: my bad. There was stuff for me to do.
Millie: ohh okay. Well see you tmr same spot?
Oswald: yeah
Millie: cool
The next day at school...
Oswald got to school and as soon as he walked in, he got grabbed and span around by Dylan, his bully. "Looking for a place to molt, Oswald the Ocelot?" Dylan asked. Oswald gave a dumbfounded face after Dylan made his comment. "Ocelots don't even do that, Dylan." Oswald told him.
"Of course you'd know that." Dylan said. Oswald walked past Dylan and got slapped by a sticky hand. Dylan laughed out loud as Oswald walked away, annoyed. The day went by quickly. Oswald left school and went to the same bench. Millie met with him. "Hey, pal." Millie said to him.
"Hey Millie. I don't know if we'll have as much time to talk like yesterday. My Dad's picking me up." Oswald told her.
"Oh. Well we can talk here." Millie told him.
"Yeah. So, why do you live with your grandpa?" Oswald said. "Wheres your parents?"
"They moved to Saudi Arabia for a year because my Dad was offered a one-year teaching job. So I'm staying with my Grandpa until they get back. They'll be back before Thanksgiving." Millie told him.
"Cool." Oswald said. Then a car pulled up and honked. It was his Dad's car with The Yellow Rabbit inside. "Well, my dad's here." Oswald said.
"Wait. That...thing is your Dad? That yellow rabbit?" Millie asked. Oswald went wide eyed. He held a finger up to The Yellow Rabbit, motioning him to wait a second. Oswald turned to Millie. "You can see him too?!" Oswald asked.
"Yeah?"
"So that was all real!" Oswald said with a smile. "I'm able to see him, but everyone else sees him as my dad!" Oswald told her. She looked at The Yellow Rabbit again. "Text me later." She said. She started walking off. Oswald nodded and he got inside the car.
