Failed Experiment (Rocket Racoon x fem reader)

1K reads!!! I should now be back from what was a too long break. I've also notice that in the last chapters, the pictures I've attached to the top of the chapters haven't appeared and idk why. I will try to sort out the problem. This might also mean that the picture might not be there for this chapter.

3rd person POV

Insane.
Insane was the only word the Meerkat could use to describe what had just happened. The innocent seeming 'Orb' that the odd group had started off with had now nearly caused all of their deaths. None of them had come to terms with the fact that just one small touch of the purple stone could cause things to come tumbling down on them.

After such a big explosion, the only thing that could follow was silence. Although the silence said a lot in this moment. It showed the mix of emotions being used right in that moment. Emotions such as astonishment, fear and anger.

Once the flames had completely died down, the group came to life again.

Quill and Gamora slowly lifted their heads from underneath the desk that shielded them. Both of their mouths open in shock.

"What the..." Quill trailed off.

The collector lay awake behind a desk covered in small parts of his building. Groot pushed himself up back onto his feet to give Rocket and Maisie a chance to breathe again. Said raccoon and Meerkat lifted their heads to look around for any danger that could possibly occur.

Once seeing that the coast was clear of any danger, the two brought themselves back to their current position. The raccoon was still lying on top of Maisie with his arms resting on the floor either side of her.

"Are you ok?" The raccoon asked her.

"Yeah, freaking amazing." She said with a huff back to him. Maisie was sure that she would have been left in a worse state. Clearly if she were to experience any kind of force bigger than that, she would not be so lucky.
"Do you still feel the need to be on top of me?" She asked moving her paws to Rockets shoulders in attempt to move him slightly.

The Racoon became flustered slightly but then without another word he stood back on his feet and turned to Groot while Maisie got up herself. Brushing off all the dust from the ground.

Still inside the falling apart building, Gamora and Quill go over to the Infinity Stone still floating out in the open. Gamora pushes both of the two sides to the Orb shut. The two then walked to the exit of the building with the space dog from earlier ahead of them.

"How could I think Tivan could contain whatever was within the Orb?" Gamora asks herself out loud.

"What do you still have it for?" Rocket yelled running over and pulling on the fur on his face.

"What are we gonna do, leave it in there?" Quill argues back.

"I can't believe you had that in your purse!" Rocket says pointing to the Orb.
