Hekate and Wenlianna meet in the fox-eared girl's quarters, which she doesn't use often. Thanks to the massive size of the Citadel, even Daniel's room alone is actually large enough to house many people, and the same is true of all of the personal quarters of those residing in the castle itself.
Hekate only has belongings thanks to conquering the Citadel, and she keeps her favorite ones in Daniel's quarters, so her room is rather sparse.
But, it's fine for meeting with someone who wants to talk privately.
"Wenlianna. Need anything?"
"N-No... I just... I..." Wenlianna swallows hard. "I was... able to confess to Mother... I... I'm... in love... with Daniel."
Hekate sighs. "I don't mean this in a mean way, but that much was obvious."
"O-Obvious?"
"Well, yeah. You came all this way, and you never smile more than when you're working on something together. What do you expect?"
Wenlianna blushes and fidgets with her hands. "I... I spoke to Aunt Reina, and she said that... I should speak to you."
Hekate nods, her chin resting on her palm with her elbow on her simple tea table. "It's a courtesy to me, since Daniel vowed to stay with me after helping me conquer the Citadel, and I'm to be his first wife."
Wenlianna is awkwardly quiet for a moment. She seems disappointed. Of course, she had and missed the opportunity to monopolize Daniel back when he was still in the kingdom, though from what Erimaya has said, it's not outside of the realm of possibility that the nobles who led to Daniel's banishment could have tried to smear the Grand Duchy's reputation as well. Hekate doesn't owe Wenlianna anything, but she also doesn't prod at that particular subject either. Instead, she waits patiently for Wenlianna's response."I can and will accept that. Wh-Which is why... I... I hope you... will give your blessing for me and Daniel... to..."
Hekate sighs. "I won't bless you getting married before me. But, intimacy, affection, and children are alright. After all, Daniel has to give me in equal share what he gives everyone else."
Wenlianna stammers for a moment as she absorbs Hekate's words.
She finally swallows hard, starting with a new point. "You... really don't mind?"
Hekate smirks. "I am envious. So envious, I want to kidnap Daniel and run away with him. But... He has fun with life as it is, and... so do I. He is sincerely looking forward to children, and the more children he has, the more he has to stay with us." She smiles softly. "He tells me to be patient, and that he'll make it worth it in the end. I know he'll keep his promise. And, seeing Tekten and Jieka really made it sink in... He loves his family."
Hekate finally sits up and crosses her arms. "You're part of his family now, and I accept you. Just make sure you're ready for all of that."
Wenlianna nods sheepishly. "I... It's awkward to talk about... But, I... I made a promise to Mother. A-A promise I've been thinking a lot about... and I'm ready to keep it."
"Your mother made you promise to have children?"
Wenlianna nods. "Mm-hmm. In the end, I'm still a noble, and Mother has allowed me to rather selfishly avoid my duties for a long time. But, now, I'd love to be able to introduce her to them the next time we see each other. And, I realized it was always meant to be Daniel."
"Well... you have good taste. At least in my opinion."
They both laugh warmly together for a moment.
"Your children will be safe here. But... you know they... probably won't necessarily be in the line of succession, right? We haven't decided how the Fievegal will proceed with succession, since... I'll potentially live a very long time, as will the dragons."
