Calia could not concentrate on her reading material. The words on the page jumbled together like a tornado, and as much as she tried to focus, she could not. Since discovering her lineage, she began reading Safiya Nox's journal and learned vital information about her family. Like how the Nox lineage mostly had daughters but there were a few males here and there within the family, like Zale and Kaius, but females were the majority. Calia also found it intriguing how she could speak with animals of the sea and even could breathe freely in the water like some kind of mermaid. She knew she was different since she swam for the first time, but she didn't think it would be like this. Not only did she have the magic of storms within the palms of her hands, but the sea. And she could not think about the goddess on her side. That was a whole different story she could not wrap her mind around.

She hissed as the wound on her arm made her see spots, and she gently pressed her fingers into her temples to stop the pain. Though the bite was on her arm, her brain felt like it was boiling every hour. Maybe she should have it checked out, but then she would have to explain to the others how she got it in the first place, and that was a long story.

Would they even believe her if she confessed that a woman with shark-like teeth bit her arm? Calia didn't think so.

It's only been a few days since the attack, and she thought it was healing already. But as soon as she woke up this morning with the wound still burning and bleeding silver blood, she decided to wrap a bandage around it and cast a spell to hide the smell from the nosy Vampires around her. Calia hoped there would be some healing spell in Safiya's journal, but nothing so far. She was on her own on this one.

She took a deep breath and called upon her storm to block out the pain because she learned that was the only way to get through the day. It was her first day back at Solasta Academy, and nothing changed. Well...there was a new replacement for Gideon and a few new students who now had the chance to attend because the others were murdered. Calia assumed it was Principal Orla's doing, but she didn't care much about the politics of it all. That was saved for Amias and Soari.

Calia was already dressed for the day since she could barely sleep last night, so she decided to eat breakfast and study her new schedule before her roommates woke up. Her classes contained many subjects she was passionate about: Magical Ethics and Laws, History of the Fae, Psychology for the Supernatural, Mythology through the Ages, and a new class specialized by Soari Breevort as she spoke about the other worlds she traveled and the many gods she had met. It is ironically called A New Reality.

She was excited to learn again but hesitant because she would see Soari every day. Calia was unsure if she should trust Soari since she had learned about the Fae, but she needed to know if her family was a part of the massacre. She was unsure what to do these days, but now she knew what she was—a sea nymph. She was the daughter of Juliette Nox, and her creator was Calypso. And she was Calia Marietta Nox and would stop at nothing to get her Kingdom back from ruins.

A knock came from the other side of her bedroom door, and she leaped up from the couch in front of the window she had been sitting on for the past hour. Calia hid the journal underneath the cushions, strode across the room, and opened the door slightly. Her shoulders slumped at the sight of Lottie and Jade standing beside each other with their uniforms on, but their shared expressions sent off alarm bells in her mind.

"What is it?" Calia's brows furrowed.

Lottie's dark blonde hair was pinned up in a ponytail, but a few strands escaped as she swiped one away in annoyance. "Some older dude is looking for you," she confessed. But her Vampire roommates gave her a questionable look as if to say, "Say the word, and I'll bite his head off," but Calia shook her head. Jade, on the other hand, was more worried than anything. She nervously bit her nails as she looked back a few times at the man standing at the door.
