Opening the drawer something caught my eyes , some old letters , I took out them from it. My heart skipped a beat as I recognized the address on the faded envelope, it's mine, in my own childish handwriting.
I hesitated then gentaly opened the envelope and the whispers of old memories came in my mind. Inside I found a hand written letter to my childhood love.
Tears pricked at the corner of my eyes as I unfolded the yellowish pages , the words were blurring as I can't control my emotions.
"Did you...." he stopped on his track as he noticed the old letters in my hand and forced my eyes to travel towards his direction.
I stared at his face for some moments as my mind was reeling in shock, the realisation hit me , the love I had been searching for this long , is standing right in front of me , my contract husband.
I was looking for something I already had.
"Listen, Ritu I was....." I didn't let him complete as I wrapped my hands around his neck tightly, holding him close.
.....................A hard slap landed on my face , leaving a stinging sensation on my cheek. My world shattered like a fragile glass. I thought I can trust him but his betrayal destroyed it all.
I remembered the time we spent together, the way he made me feel like a home, but now those memories are tainted with lies.
How can he do this to me, my own eyes can't believe this man I used to trust blindly.
"Silly girl, you thought you can take revenge like this"his laugh echoed in the silence, wishing me to break his mouth but my hands are already tied on the chair.
He looked at me with a smirk"Sadly , you have to die like your mother" saying this he rubbed the matchstick against the box creating a spark and dropped it on the oil circle around my chair. Quickly the fire started to spread around .
"Goodbye my princess"
