A Paper World

First Day

Hello. Thanks for giving this story a chance. Hope you like it. I know its short put its just an intro.

Beep beep beep. Alesa rolled over and reached out for the snooze button. But instead of plastic she felt fur.
" Gavin scoot." Alesa mumbled, pushing at the lump of fur that was her stubborn cat. He mewed but refuse to leave. He rolled over which turned off the snooze. Alesa patted the bedside table, looking for her glasses. When she found them and put them on she saw that there was a neon post it on her lamp.
FIRST DAY OF WORK
"Oh crap." Alesa moaned and smushed her face into her pillow. Gavin sensed her unhappiness and jumped from the table onto the bed and kneaded her stomach.
"Fine, fine, I'll get up, just give me a moment." Alesa pushed Gavin to the side and sat up.

After a hot shower and a strawberry Pop-Tart and a glass of orange juice ( hardly the breakfast of champions) She walked into the living room to grab her laptop when she noticed that the book case was angled funny. Like a door that was left slightly ajar.
Weird. Mel must have moved it. But why would she not put it back? I'll ask her about it tonight. She turned to the coffee table picked up her laptop. When she turned around the book case was back flat against the wall.
"Okay" Alesa said shakily, sliding her laptop into her purple paisley backpack the was on the floor and quickly walked out of the room and out the door.
On the bus her phone chimed. It was a text from her mom.
Hey sweetie congrats and have fun!
Alesa smiled and texted back:
ok mom will do. Love you! She slid her phone back into her pocket and a few seconds later it chimed again
love you too!
When Alesa got to the Barnes & Noble a wave of nerves crashed into her brain.
Its going to be fine. You don't have to be a pro on your first day. Just don't screw up majorly. She thought as she pushed open and walked in.
