Mended Melody

Receiving her morning text from Luka along with an update on Kitty Section’s progress, Marinette headed to school with a smile.

Seems like they were making good progress since Luka said that he was going to finish the melodies by today as well as squeeze in some practice with the band.

However, she hoped they weren’t pushing themselves to finish everything by a set time that they decided.

She didn’t mind waiting until they were ready.

Though those thoughts had to be pushed to the back of her mind when she neared the school and heard a commotion from inside.

“Is it an akuma?” Tikki peeked her head out of her purse and try to locate the source of a fight.

Seeing just who the voices belonged to, Marinette sagged slightly with a sigh, “No, just Chloé and Lila.” She tried to find Miss Raymond, but she wasn’t found anywhere, though Mr Haprèle seemed to be trying to deal with the situation in her place instead.

“Do you think this is about what happened yesterday?” Tikki asked, sinking back into her purse as Marinette backed away from the entrance.

“Probably.” Jogging around the school, Marinette searched for a place to transform, “And seeing how heated up they are, we should probably make sure no one get akumatised in the morning.” It was better safe than sorry, and she didn’t want to fight one and most likely be late to class.

And now, instead of starting her day by loitering around on the courtyard on a Thursday morning, waiting for the bell to ring, Ladybug was sitting on the roof of the school, making sure she wasn’t seen by the distracted students from below as she releases a purified akuma from her yo-yo.

Watching it fly off with a lingering gaze, Ladybug then peered over the edge of the roof just as the commotion on the middle of the courtyard got louder.

Standing in between the girls was Fred Haprèle who was nervously trying to diffuse the situation between the Mayor’s daughter and the girl with the… special circumstances.

His efforts were all in vain as he was ultimately ignored by the girls.

“-I’ll have my daddy banish you from Paris!” Chloé shrieked.

Lila gave her a vicious smirk, one arm crossed under her elbow, “For speaking the truth?” she  flicked her wrist with a huff of amusement, “That Ladybug-” she spat in disgust, “replaced you with a new and better Queen than you ever were?” she jeered, tilting her head at her with a touch of her finger, “Go right ahead.” She didn’t care if the spoiled brat went through with it since she’ll be able to get out of this dumb school and rebuild her kingdom again. It might take some work since retractions has been posted on the internet, but if the new school were anything like this one, no one would even think to check up on the facts.

Chloé fumed, stomping towards her while Sabrina, who was standing behind her with their school bags looked on with worry.

“You think you’re all that but you’re not! You’re just a pathetic loser!” she seethed with her own malicious smirk, pushing aside Mr Haprèle to the ground when he stood in her way, “Needing to lie?” she sneered with amusement, before flicking her wrist to the side as she let out a scoffing laugh, “That came back to bite you in the most humiliating way!” she laughed some more before shoving her face in Lila’s twisting one with her hands on her hips, “A Probation Officer? And having to repeat a year?” she leaned back with her arms crossed like she was superior to her, which she was, of course! “I can’t believe there’s a criminal here in this school I’m in.” She closed her eyes and shook her head in disappointment.
