Chapter 5 [Gen'ya's pov]

As soon as Tanjiro noticed me he started waving "Hey Gen'ya! We were all waiting for you! Come here!" I smiled and got closer, sitting on the tablecloth with them. "hey guys, it's been a while" I said, being interruped by Zen'tsu "I'll try that!", he was referring at something Nezuko made "stop it. we have to eat all together you moron." Aoi replied promptly, hitting him on the head with a wooden spoon, followed by laughter by everyone else - and some whining by Zen'itsu. I shook my head and directed my attention to Tanjiro's friend, trying to start a conversation since he was just awkwardly sitting next to Tanjiro without saying a word. "Hey, I'm Gen'ya." he turned his head towards me with a timid smile "I'm Rengoku Senjuro... you probably heard of my existence by my brother..." he tried to laugh it off, even tho it was quite clear that he was unconfortable, now that I think about it I think I've heard about his brother... I think his name is Kyojuro. He was known in town for his kindness and joyfull personality, he's been to the store I work at a couple of times... but I didn't know he had a brother. "I actually never heard of you, but it's nice to-" I couldnt finish the sentence that the other's arguing cut me off, Senjuro seemed relived so I didn't pay much attention to it.

After calming everyone down Tanjiro proposed to play cards, he had brough 'UNO' in the way here, we agreed and he gave everyone 8 cards. Inosuke was mad at first -and I discovered is because he wasn't the first one here- but he now wanted to win at all costs (but he probably won't). Kanao distributed plastic plates and forks to everyone as Aoi filled the plates with rice salad. Everyone ate while playing, there was tension in the air, most of us are really competitive when playing, some friendly insults couldn't help but escape our mouth most of them followed by laughs. It really was a splendid environment. I was really glad I have friends like this I really enjoy their company and they always include me in activities, I feel really good when I'm with them. Suddenly -as I was lost in my thoughts- a few raindrops began to fall from the sky, wetting the tablecloth. I looked up at the sky, it was probably going to start pouring any moment now. I looked at the others and they already were scrambilng to put everything back in the bags and in the pic-nic basket.  We all gathered our things and ran under the awning of a nearby shop trying to stay as dry as possible, even tho we were already drenched. "FUCK YOU- IT SHOULDN'T RAIN AT THIS TIME OF THE YEA-!" Inosuke yelled as Zen'itsu tried to shut him up putting an hand in front of his mouth, but Inosuke bit him so now he was also screaming. As the rain continued to pour we chatted for a bit, some laughing about this misfortune and some furious. We started making plans to get together again soon, knowing it will take a while to find a day we'll all be free. "Well, I guess it's time for us to head out," Tanjiro said with a warm smile, putting his sweatshirt on top of Nezuko to help her stay warmer and less wet "See you guys next time!" she added with a small smile, waving her hand. "I'm also going to go" I responded turning around and tried to put my shirt up to cover myself a little, as I started to run in the rain, raising my voice a little to say a 'goodbye'.

I ran for an unceirtain amount of time, at least untill I bumped into a person and slipped onto the wet floor and fall to the ground. "oh hello- we meet again Gen'ya, are you okay?" I saw a hand extended towards me and I grabbed it, as the person helped me get up I recognized him, it was the nice costumer who always came back in the morning. "I'm fine, thank you, sorry for the inconvinience", as I talked he let out a chuckle and handed me the umbrella "It's no problem, we're going in the same direction, so I might as well help you out." well that was unexpected, I guess being kind actually gets back sometimes-?

Hey, it's been a while now-
I know I should upload on tuesday, but I wrote this and since I wanted to say some things I decided to post it today.

First of all I'm sorry, but I don't think I will be able to actually update weekly (as you might have noticed).

Also I'll be taking a little break so don't expect an update for a while, I'm running out of motivation and ideas. School's also starting real soon and I need to focus a little.
But don't worry I'll be back sooner or later!
(knowing me it's probablly not gonna last long dw)

Little question for the story:
Would yall prefer canon or fanon ships for the kamaboko squad?
And for the hashiras? (wich are definetly not gonna be much present)
