King for a Day - Pierce the Veil ⌝

A week later after that happened, I hadn’t really seen Yunho that much. We were both very busy, him with work, me with training. Not to mention that after we told Jiu what happened, she took higher safety measures.

Today I had a conference. Well not me, I’m just there to listen, but you get what I mean. Dreamcatcher, some of Seventeen, and Ateez will be there, as well as the gang on the other side of the war. They agreed to meet up to talk and, hopefully, make peace. I was currently in the conference room, Yunho next to me.

We were chatting quietly about our week. I was deep into explaining to him a fighting method Yeosang taught me, when they entered.
There were seven men, but two stood out from the others. They were from my dreams.

I tensed up and started playing with my necklace. Yunho raised an eyebrow at me and followed my eyes to what, or more exactly, who I was looking at. He came closer to me, still staring at that man.

“Who’s he? Have you seen him before?” he said in a hushed tone.

“Yes, in my dream. Remember?”

“Oh my God.”

“This is the first time this has ever happened. I never meet people that I dream of…” he squeezed my hand under the table.

“I’m sure it’s going to be okay. A part of the Seventeen gang is supposed to show up. Mister Choi will definitely settle something with them,” Yunho told me smiling.

“So this could all end?” I asked hopeful.

“Depends on their attitude,” he shrugged.

At that moment, Seungcheol entered the room together with three other men. He looked at me, waved, and smiled. I waved back. He settled next to me.

“Hello, Y/N! I haven’t seen you in a while,” he told me smiling cheekily. “Let’s settle this down,” he muttered only for me to hear.

The meeting was going NOWHERE. The guy from my dream, Ni-ki I learned, wasn’t agreeing with anything. I could see Seungcheol’s patience wearing thinner and thinner.

“Mister, I don’t think you understand. We didn’t start this!” the younger guy argued.

“Ni-ki… I think I will take this from here,” said a smaller guy who, if you looked close enough, you could see how pissed he was. “I’m sorry sir, but Ni-ki here is telling the truth. We didn’t start this. We are not involved in this.”

“Then, Mister Yang, WHO is the one?” said one of Seungcheol’s companions.

“Mister Jeon, if we knew, we would’ve ended this long ago. I would not want a massacre in my name, or to be more exact, MY gang's name.”

I was getting dizzy. All they could do was argue and argue, like 3-year-olds.

“Oh my GOD. Okay, so you didn’t do anything, right?” I said to Jungwon who nodded. “But some people calling themselves YOUR followers are following us, our gangs, arounds, and very unsurprisingly, killing!” I said loudly. “For fuck’s sake, get your shit together and get your vampires or whatever in control.”

With that, I stood up and left the room. I could hear someone behind me. It was Yunho and someone else, I saw from the corner of my vision. He grabbed my wrist.

“Y/N.”
“I’m sorry. It was getting really annoying.”

I looked behind him. It was Ni-ki.
“Hey, so… I think I know you?” he told me. “I’ve seen you at one of the crime scenes while we were investigating.”

“Yeah. I know. It was one of my dreams, which are pretty fucking real,” I spat out.

“I’m sorry,” he said looking down.

“Just believe us. It really wasn’t our gang,” he told me not making eye contact.

“And how am I supposed to believe you? You were all covered in blood!”

“Investigation scene?” he said it like a question.

“Yeah, sure buddy. Whatever you say.”

He sighed deeply.

“I will find proof. I promise you.”

“Oh and if we’re still here, can you tell us who was following us a week back?”

“What?” his face twisted in confusion, his sharp teeth popping out a little.

“You heard me.”

“It wasn’t US,” he growled. “Not everything bad is caused by my gang, Y/N.”

“Guys, guys,” Yunho intervened, stepping between us. “Calm down.”
Ni-ki puffed.

“I’ll come back to you, Y/N,” he told me walking back to where he came from.

“That shithea-“

“Y/N, maybe they’re telling the truth.”

My heart dropped. “You think?”

“Yeah, well… they aren’t exactly enough for it…”

“I’ll get to the bottom of this. Now come on, take me home,” I said kissing his cheek.
