"You always dyeing yo hair," I said, rinsing out the dye from Déyah's curls in the sink.
"Cause I get bored of it," she replied nonchalantly, leaning back.
Grabbing a towel, I wrapped her freshly wet
hair up, tucking in the ends securely."Soulynn," Auntie Nya called out from downstairs, her voice carrying up through the open stairwell.
"Sadèyah," Uncle Fazo chimed in.
Dèyah and I exchanged a quick glance before we peered over the banister, spotting them both in the living room, looking up at us with smiles.
"What y'all doing here?" I asked, raising an eyebrow as I leaned over the banister.
Uncle Fazo and Auntie Nya are always popping up at the house whenever they feel like it. As for Auntie Bella and Uncle Duke, they moved about two hours away a couple of years back when Auntie Bella got a promotion to be a principal at an elementary school. We only get to see them every other weekend now. Ardelle visits more since he's willing to do that drive often. Meanwhile, Zav is out in Cali doing his college shit.
