I stand in my balcony, staring at the white moon above me. The cool breeze hits my skin and I take a sip of my warm coffee. I have a habit of standing or sitting in my balcony every time I need a break from work. I get headaches on a regular basis so getting some fresh air soothes my mind.

I look down and see Samar's car entering through our mansion gates. So my family is finally done with their shopping? Took them an eternity. I was almost sure they'd spend the rest of their life in that mall. I bet the owners kicked my family out of the mall to close it, that's why they had to come back.

I stand glued to my place as Samar jumps out of the car and Seher follows, her feet wobbly. I've told her multiple times not to wear heels in situations where she has to stand or walk for a long time. But this girl never listens. Now she'll cry and come to me with blisters, asking me to massage her feet and apply some ointments on her feet.

As if hearing my thoughts, she looks up at me and waves. I give a half smile as I wave her back with my free hand. She pouts and looks down at her feet before meeting my eyes again. I give her shake of my head and she pouts more. She holds her ear in one hand and I tilt my head in disapproval before blinking twice. She smiles and slowly walks with my brother inside the house while my parents follow them with tons of shopping bags in their hands.

I smile inwardly. I'm glad she's enjoying outdoors. There was this time when she hadn't stepped out of the house for 2 years straight. It took a long time for her to even come out to the garden and feel the sunshine. I'm proud of how far she has come. She's proved she's stronger than she gives herself credit for.

I'm about to go back to my room when my phone buzzes with a notification. I check it and see Arya's name on my screen. She has sent me some pictures of clothes and accessories. She's also typing something.

I'm anyways going to ignore but I wait to see what she'd say so that I can keep my phone and go to sleep without getting disturbed again and again.

Arya: See what my sister got for me from Australia. Aren't these awesome? 😍

I sigh. If I knew she was childish, I would've told Mom on our first meeting itself that we won't be compatible together.

Still, I decide to reply to her.

Me: Suits your unnecessarily colorful personality.

I knew she'd type immediately. I figured she gets offended quickly.

Arya: You don't even know what my personality is like. But yeah, at least mine isn't boring gray like yours.

I raise my eyebrow. The audacity of this girl to say this to me? Nobody has taunted me like this before.

Me: Colorful is sickening. Besides, I'm sure that since you're a reader, you love morally grey characters. Don't you?

She is a fast typer but right now, she doesn't type and leaves me on seen. I wonder what happened. Did she go speechless? She probably doesn't have a good comeback for me.
