A small knock at her door had Aria startled from the daydreaming she was doing inside the enormous tub surrounded by flowers that were shades of violet and midnight blue speckled with white, as if to imitate the darkening night sky.

She got out of the bath and dried herself off, wrapping a blue silk robe around her to answer the door.

When she opened it no one was there but a white box, the colour of a wedding cake.

it had a bright silvery bow on the top and when she carried it into the sitting room it appeared to glow in the light of the lanterns strung about her room.

A note on top told her it was from Ella's Boutique. Surprised at how quickly the dress was ready she took the top off and gasped.

The dress that lay in the crème box was the colours of wishes, secrets, and dreams. Light, pastel blue tulle flowed in layers all the way down to the hem. An almost shear corset created a sweetheart neckline and as Aria fingered the sleeves ribbons, finding comfort in the strands knowing her powers could still be used, she noticed the tiny stitching of tear-drop crystals in every seam.

It was a dress that looked like the moon cried onto, and the stars sewed themselves. Jacks had good taste she had to admit. A note had been attached written by him

Ariaellis really shouldn't have, but she did.

The moment she slipped the dress on and tied the ribbons around her wrists and the one satin one around her neck she dazzled in the mirror. Well- she glowed.

Oh no.

Immediately when she realized her Fate glow she tryed to calm down to hide it but instead it simply made her shine brighter. And then she realized her earrings. Her earrings were gone. The shining got even brighter at the realization of this but she realized there was no time to worry about that, checking her watch before slipping it into the pocket of the dress, it was another thing on the list of questions to interrogate Jacks on.

She was in the garden now, walking through the topiaries towards the glow and excitement radiating off where the ball had started. The stars were few in the inky sky that night but Aria blinked and suddenly the sky exploded with them. Several were forming a tear drop inside of a sun surrounded by a circle-

the symbol of Caraval.

It had officially begun.

Aria looked all around trying to take in everything she was seeing;

actors on stilts, covered in cream and chestnut fur, and men decorated to look like swans with fangs, rowing upside-down polka dot umbrellas through the flower-covered streams that led toward the center of the ballroom.

It was all odd and breathtaking at once.

Trying to not cause the attention of guards her way, she stayed away from the main areas of the ballroom.
