The only thing I can seem to remember is that damn sprigg attacking me. I don't even know where it ran off to, but its long gone. I can't believe I let my guard down!
The thoughts of that bloody sprigg flooded my mind. Since when did they even attack humans?! Spriggs have always been afraid of us! This is utterly ridiculous.
I brushed the hair from my eyes and opened them, a faint red glow in them. I got up, fixing my armor and walking to my boss, Corius. As soon as he gazed upon me, I saw the worrymeant in his eyes.
"Marusia, are you alright? I saw that sprigg clip the back of your leg." He said, grabbing my arm and turning me around to examine the wound on my leg.
"I'm fine, sir," I assured him. "I let my guard down for a moment, accidentally let my mind wander out of the thoughts of work."
"That was your first mistake. Never let your thoughts wander." He reminded me, pushing me in the other direction. "Don't let it happen again, Marusia. Now, please go see Vanar, he's got some tasks for you."
I nodded, and went in Vanar's direction.
I quickly walked down the path to Vanar's station, my gun at my side. Since I was a Technist, I got to use the cool stuff. Maybe one day, I would acsend, and become a gunslinger. Or, even better, an aethertech. For the love of Aion, I would do anything to be able to sport a bastion! Oh, what fun that would be!
I shook my mind away from the thoughts of something that most likely wouldn't happen, and focused on the matter at hand; getting my work done in the fields and getting to report to Ulgorn, the leader of the Raiders in the village that lies up the path.
Soon, I made it to Vanar's camp site. He looked over his clipboard as he appeared from his tent. "Has Marusia come by yet?" He asked one of his friends as they pointed to me. Vanar looked up from his clipboard, looking at me and then looking back down. "You're late!"
"Excuse my lateness, sir," I reply coyly, standing up straight and holding one hand behind my back, and the other on my gun. "There was a bit of a problem with some Spriggs."
"Ah, well, Spriggs are your first assignment, Marusia. Hunt 3 of them, preferably the ones that gather herbs from Muniheile Forest, and bring me their grain. We need to meet our quota for this week, otherwise we don't get paid. Go do it." Vanar replied to me, his voice was raspy. I had to admit, he was attractive for a raider. I'm sure there would be more attractive men in the village that lies up the path...I nodded as he shooed me away. He spoke, his voice a bit Louder this time, "May you walk in Azphel's shadow."
A slight blush lined my pale blue nose as he said so. I didn't face him, but I smirked and nodded at him, waving a hand kindly.
All the Spriggs are residing by the large pond by Muneheile Forest, but not in Muneheile Forest... Is this some kind of test?
I looked around the edge of Muneheile Forest, seeing no Spriggs. They all wandered and gathered in small areas, to which camps were set up. Sprigg fighters infiltrated the camps, fighting the spriggs off one by one, not breaking a sweat In the process. I saw some grain sacs sitting behind a tent, and smiled.
"Hey, think I could steal those grain sacs?" I yelled out at the spriggs, seeing 2 come at me with what looked like wooden weapons. I quickly drew my gun, shooting at them, hitting them both in the head. They went down without ease and I took the grain sacs.
Damn, there's only 2... Maybe there's another one in the tent.
I took a peek in the tent, seeing a sprigg look at me In fear. I saw a smaller one hiding behind her, so I guessed they were a mother and child.
"Grain sac," I said as I held one up. They spoke, tossing a grain sac at me.
"Skitsmiba no kolorimas! In beba matrkon!" it screamed, the baby crying. I nodded, leaving respectfully.
Deciding to be a bit pompous, I look behind me and smile. "Thank you," I grinned and the mother turned away in fear.
I walked away, waving at the fighter, who hacked at a fighting sprigg. "There's a mother and child in there, leave them be unless they instigate."
The fighter nodded and swung his sword, turning with it and killing the sprigg.
I ran back to Vanar's tent, giving him the grain sac and turning away. He snapped, trying to get my attention. I turned around, smiling as I did with the sprigg and putting my hand on my gun, a signal I was agitated.
"Do me a favour and retrieve the fruit that was stolen by some spriggs. Bring them to Tobu in Aldelle village, please. I need something to stay on his good side with." He said to me. I furrowed my brow and bit my lip, contemplating whether to decline and go to the village myself, or do as he says and have a reason to come into the village...
((I am sorry that this took longer to come out that I thought, I had to do all this from memory, because my laptop was stolen and I can't look up the names of my characters or anything. So just a heads up, some of these names will be made up. If you would like to read more, let me know in the comments, and I might surprise you with something cool. Thanks for reading, and have a nice day!))
