"Okay, but these two smell just alike. But one of them is bigger than the other. I could get them both."
"You can't go wrong with this; you can never have enough of vanilla." I placed both bottles into my cart before moving to the other side of the same aisle.
I put an all-purpose oil in my cart, lying on its side. I had to stop myself and remind myself that I needed to start making a list whenever I remembered something I needed because just going to the store and getting what interested me was getting really expensive.
I surveyed the shelf in front and behind me before reviewing everything in my cart to ensure I had what I wanted before moving on to the rest of the store.
After double-checking everything, I pushed myself around the rest of the store before coming back to the checkout line. But as always, all the hidden gems are on the mini shelves as you wait in the check-out line.
I looked without touching anything because I had more than enough in my cart. I heard the ding above my head, highlighting the following available cashier line.
I turned the corner, got out of the line, and walked down the walkway to the flashing 8. As the cashier rang up my items, the glass bottles were given a special packaging bag and procedure to ensure that I got them safely out of the store and home to use.
After my final glass bottle was placed in a unique bag for me to carry to my car, the special helper walked to another cashier line, needing assistance. My regular items were still being rung up but were beginning to dwindle, so I was handed each bagged item as they went.
"You're beautiful."
"Thank you," I said as I swiped my card, taking extra precautions to hide my PIN as I paid,
"So, uh, um, I think you're gorgeous, and I would like it if you spent the day with me sometime soon." The whirling sound of the machine printing my receipt ended our staring game. The expert rip of the long paper before it folded and hit the ground left me slightly swooning. His eye contact game is on point.
"My name and for you, my number is printed at the bottom; please don't let the guy highlight offer it on your way out. "
Double checking belongings once more, I retrieved the outstretched paper from his, what I learned, soft hands, smiling as he slightly leaned over his space behind the counter; return the gesture, I turned away, heading towards the door.
I held the paper tightly, forcing the guy at the door to mark over the store's logo and name. With a final glance in his awaiting eyes, I headed carefully to the car with all my bags, being as gentle as possible. Ooh, he got some pretty eyes.
After settling the bags on the floorboard of my backseat, ensuring that they wouldn't roll around as soon as I started moving, I sat in my front seat, placing the receipt in my wallet just in case I needed to return anything. Noticing his information at the bottom, with the capitalized "Contact me, Please!" I smiled small to myself.
Reversing and slowly merging with traffic heading back to campus, I thought, "I definitely will."
