Him Against The World (Keefe POV)

Agent Lodestar or Keefe Sencen has been part of the Neverseen since he was four. Actually, he had been part of it since he was born but he started training when he turned four. That was because his mother was the leader of the Neverseen. Yes, Keefe was the heir or in other words the next in line to be the leader of the Neverseen. Keefe was so tired of being a spy and fighting. He just wanted to be a normal boy with a normal life, not some spy who was about to be leader of a mafia group. But nooo, it was war, him against the world. 

Keefe shook his head hard to remove the terrible pictures forming in his head. Remember, he thought, keep a smirk on your face, keep joking, keep your walls up, stay safe, stay strong, don't show anyone your weakness, don't care, don't show mercy, don't cry. 

Keefe plastered a fake smirk on his face and left his room.

In the Neverseen, everyone wore cloaks at all times and were never allowed to take it off in the base or outside. Keefe suddenly remembered he had forgotten his. He rushed back to his room and grabbed his cloak. It had the Neverseen's white eye symbol on it. 

Keefe shuddered. He hated it and the Neverseen. 

He bumped into someone in the hallway. It was his friends. Thank god he thought. It was Wylie and Linh. They were dating, so they were always together. Lucky them Keefe thought.

Wylie has dark skin and hair. He has piercing blue eyes. He is known as Agent Flasher. He is very light-hearted.

Linh on the other hand has white skin and jet black hair with silver tips. She has silverish-blue eyes. She was usually kind and sweet but always had a tint of sadness. That was because her parents abandoned her and her twin. The Neverseen adopted her but not her twin. She still hopes that someday she will find him. Apparently, when they were 9, right before they got adopted, they had dyed their hair's tips silver by melting their family necklaces. Linh was known as Agent Tsunami.

"Oh hey, Ke-Umm.. I mean Agent Lodestar" Wylie said. In the Neverseen they were also not allowed to use their real names. That was how strict the Neverseen was. 

At least Wylie, Linh, and Ro knew that he absolutely despised it here in the Neverseen and that he wanted to run away. 

"Hi, Agent Flasher. You guys flirting again" Keefe joked.

They blushed madly and Linh said "Where's Ro?" "Here" said a voice behind Keefe. Keefe turned around and said "Hey Ro." "Hey Funkyhair" she replied.

Ro was his tall bodyguard. She was very strong and could make good threats. At first Keefe was mad at his mother, Lady Gisela, for getting him a bodyguard A.K.A babysitter, but Ro became one of his closest friends.

Ro had dyed her pigtails again. This time, they were hot pink and purple with silver streaks. "Hey ro, I think an alicorn might have pooped on your head" Keefe remarked. They all burst out laughing except Ro.

"We'll see who'll have the last laugh once you see cockroaches and spiders in your bed" Ro muttered. Keefe almost immediately stopped laughing. The others burst into another fit of hysterical laughter, harder this time.

Suddenly, a bell rang. It was time for lunch. Eating time in the Neverseen was very depressing. Everyone had to have their cloaks on and no one was allowed to talk. The dining hall was a huge cave in a hill. There were no windows and barely any lights.

The cave was moist and dim. It was also gloomy and no less scary. There were wooden tables and chairs. The food tasted terrible. 

The people here were innocent. Well, except his Mom, Dad, Fintan, Vespera, and Brant. The others get notes and they think it comes from the Black Swan, the good organization that works against the Neverseen. Then they get kidnapped and tortured until they accept to help the Neverseen. The Neverseen also threatens to kill the innocent civilians' familys' lives.

Keefe was against this. He was gonna get people to help him once he runs away, to try to save everyone.

The people here couldn't runaway because they have a tracker implanted in their hearts so the leaders (Mommy and Daddy Dearest as Keefe would call them) would find them if they did runaway. The tracker also shocks them until they die if they pass the borders without permission. Or if they were gonna go to war. Only he didn't have one.

**************Time Skip (A/N 'Cause why not?)********************

Keefe had changed into his PJs and hea had also brushed his teeth. Right as he was about to go to bed, Mommy Dearest, walked in. "What do you want?" Keefe asked. "ExCuSe Me !?" she exlaimed. 

"Yes mother?" Keefe said in a super sweet voice dripping with sarcasm. He also batted his eyelashes.

His mother rolled her blue eyes and said "Remember, tomorrow you are on guard duty".

"Okay" he answered.

She left his room. His room was tiny. But, it was the biggest in the Neverseen base after his mom's since he was an heir. Everyone elses room's were as big as a small walk in closet. There was only a bed in it. No closet like his, no bathroom (they had to use the public one), and no nigh stand or window. Only some fairy lights.

Keefe couldn't sleep, so he decided to sit on his desk and draw. 

After he finished he made sure to hide them, because his parents said that it was a waste and then they repeat their speech of how he was a dissapointment and blah, blah, blah.

Then he decided to watch the stars through window and the moonlight that penetrated his window made his eyes shine. 

Suddenly, he felt very sleepy, and he closed his eyes. He dreamt of having a normal life and friends and parents who loved and cared for him. 

But he knew he was dreaming somehow, 'cause it was too good to be true. He could never be this happy...
