                Heatherherbs raced back to the healing den to get her drawings of the signs, thinking of Crispsnow's words. She could lay off Berrypaw for a while, that was for sure. Just then, she reached the healing den.She padded inside as scooped up her drawings and walked back to her own den. Once inside, she placed her drawings on the floor and ran into the forest. She thought of doing some hunting. She realized how long it had been since she had last been out hunting. Heatherherbs leaped into a bush and waited eagerly for a juicy piece of fresh-kill to come by. Sure enough, within minutes, a rabbit came into view. She waited for it to come a little closer. When it had just moved a little, Heatherherbs pounced. She caught the rabbit between her paws and dug her claws into its throat, however, her claws were not as sharp as eveycat else's as she was used to tending to the wounded. She dug her nails a little deeper and finally, she killed it.Delighted, she padded back to her den. In her den, she settled down in her mossy nest, wondering what Berrypaw was up to.A hot surge of guilt was beating in her blood, about how she had treated Berrypaw earlier a sunrise ago, but she told herself, It's for the better. He needs to learn.. She felt an urge to consult the signs again welling up within her but she stopped herself. Remember what Crispsnow said. Then there was a faint noise at the mouth of the den as Berrypaw slunk in, his tail trailing on the ground.Heatherherbs looked into his dull green eyes and saw a flash of misery. "Berrypaw-" Her apprentice turned away, grunting."It's too late, Heatherherbs.You choose this path." "B-Berrypaw....?"As she backed into her nest, a horrible thought struck her, full of suspicion.Is Berrypaw the beginning of this terrible darkness?
