The afternoon sun cast a warm, golden glow over the garden, where Y/N sat in quiet bliss, deeply engrossed in her favorite book. The soft rustling of leaves in the breeze and the gentle chirping of birds were the only sounds accompanying her, creating a peaceful ambiance that contrasted sharply with the chaos of the previous day. After her tantrum, all she wanted now was some calm—a moment to escape into the world of her book and forget about everything else.
Y/N looked every bit the part of a princess in her yellow sundress, her long hair neatly braided, a soft smile playing on her lips as she turned the pages. It was rare for her to feel this serene, and she was determined to savor every second of it. Her brothers Jin and Namjoon were away on a business trip, leaving her alone with Taehyung in their big, luxurious house. But Taehyung had gone out with his friends, so Y/N had the entire house—and more importantly, the entire garden—to herself.
It was perfect. Almost too perfect, which should have been her first warning.
As Y/N lost herself in the fictional world, her temporary peace was shattered by the sound of the garden gate slamming open. She jumped, startled, as Taehyung's loud voice rang out across the yard.
"Y/N!!!"
She sighed, already feeling her annoyance rising. "What?!" she snapped back, not even bothering to look up from her book.
Taehyung came running towards her, panting like he'd just finished a marathon. Y/N finally glanced up, her eyes narrowing suspiciously as her brother skidded to a stop in front of her, his chest heaving.
"Why are you dressed up so cutely?!" Taehyung whispered, his eyes scanning her from head to toe.
Y/N frowned, confused. "What do you me—"
Before she could finish her sentence, Taehyung yanked the book out of her hands, throwing it across the garden. Y/N screamed in surprise, watching in horror as the book sailed through the air and landed with a splash in the koi pond.
"Taehyung!!!" she shrieked, but he wasn't done. He immediately reached for her hair, yanking out the carefully done braid and messing it up until her once-pristine hairstyle was a tangled mess.
"Tae, what are you doing?!" Y/N demanded, trying to swat his hands away. But Taehyung was relentless. He grabbed a handful of dirt from the nearest rose pot and smeared it all over her face, his actions so fast and unexpected that Y/N was left standing there in shock.
When he finally stepped back, he nodded in satisfaction, surveying his handiwork. Y/N stared at him, wide-eyed, utterly lost. "This will do... Don't move, just stay here," Taehyung ordered, before turning and running back into the house.
Y/N stood there, frozen, feeling like an absolute idiot. She couldn't comprehend what had just happened. Her once beautiful yellow dress was now smudged with dirt, her hair was a mess, and her face was smeared with soil. Her precious book was soaking wet in the koi pond.
"Peace my ass..." Y/N mumbled to herself, frustration boiling over as she bent down to retrieve her ruined book from the water.
She straightened her hair as best as she could and wiped the dirt from her face. She was ready to march inside and strangle Taehyung for whatever ridiculous reason he had for ruining her peaceful afternoon. But as she turned to storm inside, she stopped dead in her tracks.
Standing in the doorframe was someone she hadn't noticed before—someone who wasn't Taehyung. A tall, incredibly handsome guy with a right arm fully covered in tattoos. He leaned casually against the frame, his dark eyes fixed on her, and for a moment, Y/N felt her breath catch in her throat.
She blinked, trying to process what she was seeing, before instinct kicked in. "Taehyung! There's a burglar in the house!" she screamed, her voice filled with panic.
