The Taint curse technique is powerful, this fact was known to many, especially Ryomen Sukuna.

With this technique, a user is able to take over another's curse energy/curse technique, by tainting it their own. Although it's not that simple. It depends on the user's determination, emotions and overall, how unshakable they are to failing their goal.

Of course, it's much easier to take over a weak minded curse user's curse energy. A user must calculate their opponents usage of curse energy, and come up with a sum of how much of their curse energy they must use to taint their opponent's.

When they come up with an answer, they lift their hand and shoot their pure curse energy to the opponent's use of curse energy, whether it's a nail or a punch or even a shikigami.

Now it may sound confusing at first, but imagine it like this.

A nail being controlled by curse energy is being shot towards a Taint curse technique user. A user can take over the curse energy and stop it, controlling it exactly like how the opponent uses it. After calculating how much curse energy is in the nail, they use a certain amount to taint it. It doesn't have to be the same amount, but it shouldn't be too little. Sometimes it requires less than how much the opponent uses or more. Depending on the curse technique and the opponents strength.

There a two things that can happen in this scenario:

- The user didn't use enough curse energy and failed to take over their opponents curse technique. Resulting in them having wasted that curse energy.

Or

- They successfully take over their opponent's curse technique and can use it to their own advantage. Though this takes a lot of and control. The strength of the user also decides how long they'd be able to copy the technique. Though it's not as hard as it seems.

But there is more when it comes to the Taint curse technique.

They're also able to taint pure curses, cursed spirits. Just like Curse Manipulation, but just A BIT different.

Although the user must be powerful and have big surges of curse energy. Most Taint curse users are only able to take over the body of Grade 4 curses and some Grade 3.

Only 6 users were recorded to have been able to control Grade 1 by themselves. Many were able to control Grade 2 and 1 in groups.

Users can control them. Use them as additions, as weapons. Either by controlling them in one piece, or ripping them into pieces with their mind and curse energy. Using their sharp or flexible limbs as weapons.

Now, last but not least, a user's ability to summon curse spirits.

This technique is easiest and strongest in or close to a crowed area, an area with strong energy, emotion, caused by humans. For example, a school, office building, orphanage, exedra.

Now this technique is actually REALLY difficult, BUT it uses little of the user's curse energy.

The user must put their full focus on tracking down, absorbing, then with a spark of their own curse energy, form a curse spirit, that lives for their will. This requires mind power, control, focus and understanding of ones own power.

Of course this can be repeated many times, but it's not easy finding enough curse energy to create/summon a curse spirit. And it requires a lot of the user's time.

Summary:

Taint curse users have three techniques.

Copycat:
In where the use is able to control their opponent's curse energy/curse technique. This requires a certain amount of curse energy of the user. Depending on the strength of the opponents curse technique, decides how much curse energy the user must use. Sometimes it's less than what the opponent uses or more. This technique works best on opponents weak with their curse energy control.

Puppet:
Where the user is able to control the body of a curse spirit. The common user is only able to control up to Grade 3. Unlike Curse Spirit manipulation, Puppet is easier to us, but requires more talent and energy.

Like Geto, but quirky.

Devil:
Where the user uses curse energy from a human filled area to create and control a curse spirit.
