"He's not in his room?" Ezra asks.
"No! I checked! I checked everywhere! The library, the outer ridge, I don't know where else to look." I say.
Ezra examines the pentagram on the floor. My heart is racing. Where did he go? What spell is this? He couldn't have just left without telling anyone... without telling me. I'm supposed to be his protector. I'm supposed to be his partner.
"What do you know of the devil?" I ask.
"He's the fallen angel." Ezra says.
"I've heard about angels before. They seem so beautiful." I say.
"They're beings of pure light and rule heaven." Ezra says.
"Yeah Heaven. One things for sure, I'll never get to see the pearly gates." I sigh.
"Don't say that, Rayla. You have a good heart." Ezra says.
"Tell me more, is he dangerous?" I ask.
"Well... every story says the devil is the source of evil. He did trick Adam and Eve into eating the apple." He says.
"So... I'm guessing he's bad news." I say.
"Yeah." Ezra nods.
"What does this mean?" I ask.
"It means he actually might have summoned the devil." He says.
"What?!" I yell.
He summoned the source of all evil? What was he thinking?! He promised me he'll never do dark Magic again. Why would he do something as stupid as making a deal with the devil?! It doesn't make any sense.
"We got to find him. Well, I have to find him. You got kingly stuff to do." I turn.
"Rayla, be careful." Ezra says.
"I will." I say.
