The time was 12:34, AM. Raf, like most nights now, was wide awake. How could he sleep? Not after everything that's happened...

Now, both his uncle and cousin have gone missing, and the police even shut down the search parties, claiming that it was a "public safety risk" or some excuse.

They gave up.

Raf's mind whirled around in a frenzy, like angry bees in a hive. He didn't allow himself to sleep. No, not now. He felt like he needed to think. His mind kept rummaging over the past month; the day Max went missing, the phone call from the police, the Jazz confirming that Soundwave had her...

And then... the kids at school. He stopped being Raf, the quiet geek in the back of the class and just "the boy whose cousin and uncle went missing. Everyone responded to him with sympathetic looks and gazes, even bullies like Vince. It was eating him up inside to keep quiet and just play along...

Just... play along with the fact that your cousin is now dead.

Well... technically legally dead no. That was still something he was still trying to wrap his head around.

Part of him wondered if Max really did ever get that letter, if soundwave even had Max alive, the only evidence that Max was even breathing was word of mouth, no pictures or anything, but yet-

No, no he can't... he just has to let himself believe this once. If giant alien robots from outer space exist, so can the possibility of Max being alive, even if it's slim...

Although.... When Raf thought about it.... It was a little strange how... the police, after receiving one body, just seemed to brush off the case, not that they were particularly involved, then again... when were the police ever?

But... but it was strange how quickly it was just... "Closed", like there was something to hide.... there was something fishy... very fishy about it... if only there was a way to challenge it, like something to prove that-

Klink

Raf slowly raised his head from the pillow, looking out the window where he heard the noise, nothing but the dark night sky, he looked away...

Klink Klink

He returned his attention again, really focusing...

Klick clink klink

Someone was throwing rocks outside his window! Raf got up from his bed, opening the window wide open to see...

Miko! And Cliffjumper?

"It's nearly One in the morning! What are you guys doing??" Raf whispered his shout, still keeping quiet, not waiting to draw attention, however that wasn't to say that he wasn't puzzled to see the pair here.

"Get down here! We're going on a mission!" Miko called back, keeping her voice low.

"And get your computer! And maybe change out of your Pj's..." Cliffjumper also added on, his words making Raf look down at his Mega-man themed Pjs. He would feel shame, but he had bigger fish to fry right now. Without much comment he grabbed his laptop, and quickly changed out of his nightly attire.

"You guys better have a good explanation for this..." Raf said, carefully as Cliff helped him down from the window.

"Oh, we do. Now come on, Jazz is waiting for us at the funeral home." Cliffjumper joked.

...........................................................................................................................

The group arrived on scene, Jazz already waiting for them, paint color shifted over to this stealth mode, making himself dark grey. His visor flicked over as Cliffjumper pulled up into the parking lot of Knock-out Burger, it was a few blocks down from the funeral home, which Raf could clearly see.

"Why are we heading for a funeral home?" Raf finally asked, everyone's attention flicking over to him.

"Ya didn't tell him?" Jazz raised his brow, looking at Cliffjumper.

"I was hoping you would," Cliff responded back.

Jazz sighed, "So... Raf, don't freak out, but we kinda are breaking' in..." Jazz winced slightly at Raf's horrified expression. "Now I know that sounds kinda bad, " Jazz quickly added on, seeing as how Raf's face contorted into a questioning expression. "But, we are doin' it for a good reason"

"We're gonna look at dead people!" Miko jumped in, her eyes having her naturally chaotic look.

"Miko, not helpin'. " Jazz pushed her down. "Look, I have a sneakin' suspicion that the body them police guys found... isn't real."

"And considering how Decepticons, pretty much, are confirmed to be messing around, this is probably just another trick to get people quiet." Cliffjumper added in, the distaste in his mouth made clear.

"Ok... but.. Why are me and Miko here?"

The two Autobots both looked at each other, before looking down at the kids.

"Well... Raf, we kinda need you to look through the computers to find which room the body is in, and Miko? Eh..." Jazz sighed, looked over at the kid, who seemed to be beaming with pride.

"I overheard Jazz and Cliff talking about sneaking in and so I stole one of the employee's ID cards!" Miko then raised the card, proudly for all, Raf looked stunned. But, before he could say something, they arrived outside of the funeral home. It was an uninviting sight already, but probably made worse considering the fact they were breaking and entering.

"Does Optimus know?"

"Nope, an neither does Ratch, so dont rat me out to my old man, 'Kay?" Jazz grinned teasingly at Raf, patting his head affectionately.

"Come on, the cops are corrupt anyway, just like in the movies!" Miko chimed in, as she swiped the ID card into the access slot, opening it. As the four of them walked in, she proceeded to plot the card into the check-in counter, while Raf hopped onto the registration chair to access the computer, plugging it into his laptop.

Part of him couldn't help but think that this was rather... nice looking funeral home, he imagined it would've been more... "creepy-looking" than anything, only to swallow back those thoughts as he saw the police records, showcasing the reports, files and rooms.

"What happens if the police come after us?" trying to hide his nervousness.

"Sneakin' around is my job, kid, don't worry, plus who breaks into a funeral home?" Jazz joked.

"We are!"

"On a consistent biases? Cliff do we break into funeral homes often?"

"Oh yeah, every Tuesday after bowling!" Cliffjumper joked, Jazz and the red mech chuckling quietly. Raf took a deep breath.

"Ok, there's a file that says the police brought in a body recently, a missing person. That might be it." Raf, even though he felt uneasy, actually did feel a bit proud as Jazz patted his shoulder as a sign of praise.

"Great, you wanna come with me and Cliff to take a look? Or would you rather stay here?" Jazz asked, his voice getting somewhat serious, but caring.

"Um... it... it won't be like scary, right?" Raf asked, if Jazz was right, it still felt weird that they did this to... look at a body, even a fake one at that...

Jazz blinked, waving Cliffjumper and Miko to go ahead and head over to the room as Jazz walked with Raf, down the hall.

"No, no. Has Ratchet ever told you what a Facsimiles is?" Raf shook his head, Jazz sighed.

"Figures, well... back in the old days of Cybertron, there was these things called Facsimiles, it's basically like a puppet, albeit a very rudimentary one. They look convincing at a distance, anyway, a bit after we arrived on Earth, we had used holographic ones to mimic humans whenever we're in alt mode, you've seen Arcee with hers sometimes." Jazz explained to Raf, leading the boy over to the room.

"However, every once in a while, we see a Decepticon Facsimile, the difference is that theirs are a tiny bit more advanced. They look and feel like humans but are more like puppets." Jazz walked over to Cliffjumper, who had opened the morgue. Looking inside to see the body, Raf felt uneasy.

"Ok, looks scary but I want you both to look closely, I've dealt with these guys a lot, this one looks like it's just a hollow shell..." Jazz informed as he lifted the head up, lifting the hair slightly.

The figure was a feminine, looked like a young adult with straight black hair which reached to about its shoulders. Jazz swiped the hair to a side, revealing a small section of her head that was bald. Using the special light on his digit, Jazz revealed the Cybertronian code embedded into her head.

"See? Decepticon... which means if i just..." Jazz then gave it a temporary shock, which completely turned off the Facsimile's mechanism slightly, allowing Miko and Raf to see for a few seconds the true form.

"It... it looked kinda like the guy from Terminator" Miko commented, Raf agreed, breathing out a sigh of relief.

"Yeah, it's fake." Jazz said, pushing the body back into its morgue slot. "Meaning that most likely, the Decepticons are using humans after all..."

"But what would they need humans for?" cliffjumper asked, holding a digit to his chin.

"That's the thing I'm worried about... and I'm afraid that I know the answer..." Jazz let out a heavy sigh, before continuing.

"The other day, I was talkin' to Soundwave and asked him about a Iacon relic that the Decepticons managed to get, confirming that it was an unstable cyber matter..."

"Unstable cyber matter?" Miko asked.

"Yeah, asked Ratchet 'bout it, stuff's like a plague that turns anything it touches into metal, same kind all Cybertronians are made from, it's a bio weapon from the war."

With that revelation, the room went silent, everyone had one thing on their mind, but dared not to say it.

"Jazz, you don't think..."

"Cliff, I'm afraid they are."

"They're cyberforming humans"
