Phoenix: A Blessing in Disguise

Chapter 1

Porsche didn't know what happened. That morning he had been so eager to see Kinn. He had been feeling sick for the past few days and took a pregnancy test this morning after Kinn had left the suite.

Yet, the sight that met him upon rushing to see Kinn left him shell-shocked. Kinn was passionately kissing a delicate beautiful man who Porsche recognized as Tawan.

The pregnancy test nearly slipped through his trembling fingers before he shoved it into his pocket and slipped out of the office. He was so grateful for his ability to hide everything behind a smile, a skill that he had mastered during years of raising Chay while fighting for every last baht he could get to make ends meet.

He slipped into his usual place, ignoring Big’s look of derision and Ken's arrogant sneer. He barely noticed them, his heart broken and his mind trying to wrap around the sounds of Kinn’s grunts and Tawan's moans as they fucked in the office behind him.

It was torture to stand there and listen to them fucking. His morning sickness started flaring and pretty soon he had to go to the bathroom otherwise he would vomit all over the floor. He barely managed to stagger back to his feet and make it back to his post. Some of the guards he passed looked after him as he passed in concern at his deathly pale face.

Some time later, Kinn called them all in and introduced Tawan to them, even though they all knew him.

"This is Tawan, my boyfriend who has returned from abroad. He will be living here so prepare the suit next to mine and help him move his things here. You will treat him like you treat me. Anything he asks for you will do immediately. Also, Ken, you will be reassigned into Tawan's detail as his head bodyguard. You will have a team of three other guards on your team. Chan will update you on your new role and responsibilities.

Porsche, you are demoted from head bodyguard and Big will take over your position as he has recovered. You will be assigned to Tankhun’s detail until a 'suitable' assignment is found for you. You are all dismissed for the rest of the day. Do not disturb us for any matter unless it is a dire emergency." With a giggling Tawan on his arm, Kinn left the room for his suit.

Porsche barely made it to his room in one piece. He crumpled onto his bed and cried as his heart continued to shatter until he drifted off into restless sleep. He woke with a start as the door to the room was roughly opened and then shut. From the light of a dim nightlight, he easily recognized the silhouette as Kinn's.

A slap struck his face hard before he could even get out a greeting and then Kinn was choking him. “Listen to me, slut. You will never tell Tawan or anyone else that you whored yourself out to me. If I find out you did, I'll kill your brother. Never approach me again slut. You may call me Khun Kinn if you must address me at all. You are my bodyguard and my bed warmer. Nothing more.”

Tears were streaming down Porsche's face as Kinn roughly shook him by his grip on his neck before punching him hard in the face. Kinn released him and stormed out of his room. Porsche collapsed into himself as he both coughed and sobbed. He startled as a pair of arms encircled him, yet he immediately relaxed into the hold as he recognized the person.

“Porsche, a-are you alright?” Pete asked, holding his best friend close. He had heard the entire conversation that had happened and knew that Porsche must be crushed. He had fallen in love with Khun Kinn and this must be crushing.
