Chapter 6

Hey, readers!

I deeply apologize for not updating a lot. I've just been so busy with things over the summer. I thought I would have more time to write but noooooooooope. Aaaaaand now school is starting soon again, which means I'll be even busier! (yay🥲)

Anyways, I just wanted to thank you again for your support! I have so many views and I can't thank you guys enough! Thank you so much for hanging in there for my late updates. 😬

Lastly, this chapter is just mainly the story of how Shanks loses his arm, but in his perspective. And of course I added other details and stuff. I wanted it to be as similar to the manga as possible, so I copied most of the dialogue word for word. This chapter is kinda long btw.

Shanks POV

The kid was crazy.

Luffy stood on the bow of the Red Force, holding a dagger.

"Hey, Luffy what're you up to now?" I asked him from the deck of the ship.

"HMPH!" he yelled back, "I've had it with you guys! Now you'll have to take me seriously!!! This is how tough I am!"

I wasn't sure what he was about to do so I laughed and said, "Get it over with! Whatever it is..."

"NOW!" Luffy yelled, and stabbed his left cheek with the dagger.

"HUH?!?!?" My crew yelled from next to me.

"ARRRGH!" Luffy yelled in pain.

I was dumbfounded by his bold move. "You idiot! What'd you do that for!?" I yelled as I climbed up to get him.

After having Luffy's cut sewn up by Hogno, the Red-Hair Pirates' doctor, we all headed to Party's Bar.

As we pushed through the batwing doors, my eyes reflexively scanned the room for the beautiful green-haired barmaid. I found her standing at the counter, wiping down clean glasses. Our eyes met for a second and she smiled sweetly. Then she noticed my crew behind me and called out, "Welcome everyone!" My men shoved past me to sit at the empty wooden tables set up around the room, laughing and talking. I took a seat at my usual place at the counter, with Luffy sitting next to me.

Makino came to stand in front of me on the other side of the counter, holding her notebook and pen to take orders. "I'm assuming you would like your regular order, Captain?" she asked me, leaning slightly forward over the countertop.

"You know it," I replied. I leaned in closer, hoping for a kiss.

Unfortunately for me, Makino did not like showing her romantic affection to me in public. She straightened up quickly and shuffled a little to her right so that she was now in front of Luffy. After quickly scribbling down my order, she asked Luffy, "Luffy, what happened to your cheek? Why do you have a gauze on?"

Luffy grinned at her and told her all about how he had stabbed himself just below his left eye. Makino's change in expressions were priceless, and it took all my willpower to suppress my laughter.

Makino served the whole bar drinks as my crew sung sea shanties at the top of their lungs. The entire room was filled with a joyous energy.

It made me wish that I would never have to leave.
