"In conclusion, today I want to say that... Always trust your friends, if you have any. If they are loyal to you, then keep this friendship as tight as possible and do not let it go for anything, under any pretext. Even if at the cost of his life... But I hope it doesn't come to that."

POV/Lillian

— Lillian Feir. What the hell is going on here!?

I smiled nervously. Well... in basically, I expected this. Although I did not expect that everything would be so smooth. Poor Orion had to be left in the living room, and now I have to tell my friend everything "from and to" so that she no longer screams in my ear. That's probably the only thing that pisses me off about her. I'm still not old enough to lose my hearing.

A few minutes earlier

...I heard the familiar horn of a pickup truck. Orion did too, and that alerted him. He looked at me worriedly in a mute question that I understood immediately.

— It's okay, Orion, don't worry. My old friend has arrived, — I said calmly, making it clear to him that there was nothing to worry about. — Although, you'll probably have to prepare for the worst... Stay here for now. I'll be back soon.

I quickly put on my slippers so as not to suffer with sneakers and left the house, closing the door. Not that I'm worried, but knowing my friend, she won't hesitate to start asking questions that must have answers. She won't just leave without them. However, I am also sure that Salvia will understand me about Orion... Probably.

— Is it the sun that is blinding, or is it the light from you? — I said, happily approaching the red pickup truck.

— Your flirtation leaves much to be desired, Leaf, — said a small but dangerous woman with curly red hair on her head, gathered in a high ponytail, who got out of the car. — Come here.

I immediately hugged my friend tightly, as she did in response.

Salvia Faithful - my best friend since high school. We were in the same class, but we weren't particularly close to each other until, because of one stupid incident, everything changed. And so - since then, we have been communicating, worked together at a previous job and are now working, or rather, earning money together. She and her daughter are the only ones who communicate with me in this remote corner from civilization. Her house is a thirty-minute drive from mine. Let's just say Salvia is the only one I would trust with my life, which means the secret about Orion too.

"But something tells me that this is going to be a little more difficult."

— How are you feeling? — Salvia, as always, first me, and then about something else. She worries about me as a younger sister, even though she is five years younger than me.

— Just fine! — I said joyfully raising my hands, showing my strength. — As you can see, I haven't lost my shape yet.

— I'm serious, Li.
