Chapter I

A rainy day... Who doesn't love the rain? The sky has held too much in and finally lets it all out, though it's just a drizzle. Just like people... I thought as I looked out the window.

''Earth to Yoon Jeonghan?'' I snapped out of my thoughts as someone was calling me.

''You know the bell rang already, right? aren't you going to go eat with your brother and friends?'' she asked while keeping her books under the desk.

''Stepbrother, but yeah, I heard the bell. I'll get going.'' I said as I took my books with me towards the door.

''Why are you taking your books? Don't tell me you're going to skip lunch.'' She asked while walking with me.

''Why are you talking too much today?'' I snapped back at her while emphasizing 'you'.

''And why are you so grumpy?'' She asked, using the same tone I used.

''Jihye!!! Over here'' I heard someone call her out from the cafeteria, as we reached there.

''Come on, they're calling us.'' Jihye said while dragging me there.

''Hong Jihye, what took you so long to come here?'' Jisoo, or Joshua, her cousin asked while crossing his arms.

''Well, Mister dreamy face here was dreaming, and I had to wake him up.'' Jihye said while she and Joshua were walking together to the table where our friends were seated.

''Hey guys!!'' I heard Soonyoung say as we all take a seat.

''Well, I have something to say...'' Seungcheol, my stepbrother, announced while holding Areum's hand.

''Me and Seungcheol are dating!'' Areum said excitedly. Everyone at the table started cheering and congratulating the new couple. 

He's almost like my brother, Am I supposed to be happy? Why do I feel... broken? If I confessed first, Would I have her?

''See, Dreamy face has been dreaming since he got here.'' Jihye told to Joshua and Seokmin, while the both of them laughed with her.

''Jeonghan, aren't you happy for us?'' Areum asked while smiling with Seungcheol.

''Yeah, very. Hope you both love each other till the end.'' I lied. What was I supposed to do? Tell her that I love her? 

''Hey! that's mine.'' I heard Seokmin say as Jihye took his sausage and eat it.

''Um, guys? I don't feel well, I'm going to class.'' I lied again. I didn't want to be near Seungcheol or Areum.

''Okay, I'm coming with you.'' Jihye said as she stuffed her mouth with Seokmin's food and came to me.

''You know, you didn't have to.'' I said while the both of us were walking to the rooftop.

''It's about Areum sunbaenim (used to address someone older in the work force or in an education system), isn't it?'' She asked ignoring what I said while looking at the view in front of us, it's November, the breeze is cool, yet there's a bit of warmness and the scenery is covered with mist, because of the recent rain.

''Are you a mind reader or what?'' I asked chuckling as she asked about Areum.

''So, I was right, it is about sunbaenim. You know, you should've confessed.'' She said as she stopped looking at the view and looked at me.

''I should've but, what can be done now? I can't steal her away from hyung (used by males to address another older male)'' I said filled with frustration for not confessing first.

''Then move on.'' Jihye said dead serious.

''As if it's trash, that I can throw out easily'' I said with sarcasm.

''Then, I'll help you get over her... Only under one condition.'' She said with a slight smirk on her face.

''And that is?'' I asked, hoping- no praying it wouldn't be doing her homework.

''Buy me lunch every day'' She said extending her hand to shake on it.

''That's it?'' I asked surprised.

''You want more?'' She asked with an eyebrow up.

''Nah, I'm good. So where do we start?'' I said while shaking on it.

It would be good if someone helped me out of my lovesick stage, right?

''Uh, I don't know, I haven't been in love yet...'' She said looking back at the view.

''You just want food, don't you?'' I asked, knowing her for a year, we've gotten relatively close, but I still don't feel like I know anything about her, and she never tells any one about anything.

''Yeah... buy me something right now, I'll help. Also, no backing out from the deal.'' She said, as she knew I would back out as soon as she starts helping, also because she knows I cheat... IN GAMES.

''Yeah, yeah, I know.'' I said giggling as I realized there might be hope for me to move on from Areum.
