The smoke curled up in swirls as the hefty man spit it out, the skinny man sat with a spider like motion and smile on his face that could have scared many little children at a time. Undoubtably they both had questions for me. Though it was getting tougher and tougher not slip.
"Where's the barrier?" The skinny man said casually.
I answered as perplexed as i could be, "The barrier? Is this a joke?"
As I had feared the hefty man was there for a reason. He was unconcerned with are conversation, walked around the small little room. As soon as I spoke he would tighten up and the skinny ratty little man would give him a look.
"Look if we don't get answers you don't live..." The man cried but refused to break eye contact again.
"Then how will you find your precious barrier? I mean given you think I know where it is."
The hefty man gave a large croak and tensed again. The skinny man was trying as hard as could to not break eye contact but he did at the sound of the croak. A hard glare was given and he looked back at me as if I was only a child's toy.
"You can go. Clearly your as stubborn as they get! I mean 20 people to interrogate today and are first one won't even try to give us the correct answers." The scrawny man scowled.
"We'll must be on my way."
Indefinitely I was to be tailed for a period of time. But I could not risk staying out of the barrier to long. The barrier was one of the last gateways to magical inhabitants. Though people thought they lived in suburban areas the barrier was clearly in the country. I was a magical creature living among people. I happen to be a night Phoenix. The rules to the barrier were simple, you cannot stay in the barrier forever or painful death awaits you. Next if you are in the barrier for three days and come out you cannot be out of the barrier for more than 3 days. Several magical creature have been lost do to the time constrain and interrogations. Part of the magic in the barrier is that it turns in to a wonderland and no matter what you do you can not tell anyone of barrier it's magic prevents you from doing so. Also as soon as you left the barrier you were disguised as a human until back at the barrier.
