Set in the Vampire Knight alternate universe, humans were initially oblivious to the existence of vampires. However, over the centuries following Yuki's transformation into a vampire, more and more humans became aware of their existence.
When Yuki was around a thousand years old, a mysterious plague emerged that affected vampires despite their supernatural abilities. Even purebloods were not immune. The origin of the plague remained unknown.
Yuki, however, was the only vampire who proved immune, making her the last of her kind. Her loved ones—Kaname, Zero, and her children—succumbed to the plague, leaving her utterly alone.
For the next 1,000 years, Yuki wandered the earth, avoiding human contact as much as possible. The world around her changed constantly, but she remained unchanged, eternally youthful and burdened by the weight of her loss. She spent these millennia obsessively searching for the cause of the plague but found no answers. The once bubbly vampire princess had long since faded away, replaced by a solitary and melancholic figure.
Yuki might have remained isolated forever, but everything changed when an alien invasion suddenly threatened Earth.
For the last 50 years of her timeline, Yuki has fought alongside humans against the alien invaders.
Seeing no end to the war against the aliens, Yuki decided to build a time machine using vampire magic and alien technology after discovering ancient vampire texts related to time travel. She has been working on it for two decades.
Her plan is to go back in time before the plague to warn her fellow vampires.
But things don't go the way she hoped.
