Aunt Renée led me to the home. I walked in and was astonished. The home was not at all what I expected.

My parents made it out like the Callahan's house was a shack. Well, the house was nothing like their mansion, but it was practical and quaint. I think I liked it more than my parent's humongous mansion.

She led through each room and each was like a mix of nautical, rustic, and log cabin.

It was my dream home.

Finally, we came to my room. It was literally like a log cabin. The walls had wood paneling, and all the furniture looked like someone had spent months and months whittling wood to accomplish each individual masterpiece. There was a big window that overlooked a lake and mountains beyond that. I loved it.

Aunt Renée asked, "How do you like it, Lynn?"

I smiled and responded, "To be honest, I like it more than my own room."

"Glad to hear that. You know my husband's father built this whole house and whittled all that furniture in your room? Pretty amazing right?"

I nodded.

Aunt Renée smiled and said, "Well, I'll leave you to unpack. Come down at 6:30 to have dinner and you'll meet Ethan, my husband, and Russell and Dana, my kids. Oh and Jasmine, our husky."

"You have a dog?" I asked.

"Yes. Is that an issue?"

"Oh, no! I've always wanted a dog, but my parents always said no."

"Oh, Jazz is a doll. You'll love her. She's out hunting with Ethan right now. Well, I'll see you later."

I said thanks to Aunt Renée then I started to unpack my belongings. My pink silk bathrobe didn't really fit in with the decor. I thought maybe I'd ask Aunt Renée to pick me up some normal person clothes, instead of the gaudy crap my mom picks out for me.

Aunt Renée seemed nice enough. I was worried about the others though. If Russell was that boy with the long hair I saw earlier, he didn't seem to deal with rich person crap.

I hoped that this summer would be better than what I had expected.
