Fives alarm caused him to suddenly jolt up from bed before rubbing his eyes with fatigue. Eight must have finished her meal, he thought to himself. five was never late and would always boast about how he was his father's favourite to his siblings, knowing full well he couldn't care for the lot of them. so hoping to please his father he quickly scurried into his uniform and blinked downstairs waiting infront of the carefull carved wooden door that led to the dining room five pondered the heavy weight on his shoulders he needed to ask his father something he already knew the answer to but was determined to to not stop persisting any time soon.

Not long after he had arrived, his siblings joined him. They all entered the room in unison they were all dressed in the acadamy uniform, perfectly pristine. Quietly, they all stood waiting for further instructions before receiving the same cold hard greetimg from their father as number eight had earlier, "sit."

The children sat in silence. Any chatting during meal time would lead to immediate punishment, so they all entertained themselves in their own way. Diego sat at the corner of the table skillfully, twirling his knife between his fingertips, luther was trying to see how many shapes he could bend his cutlery into, klaus was the quietest he had been in months after what his father had done to him the day prior, Alison was left looking aimlessly her powers couldn't really do much in this situation the downside to vocal manipulation. Lastly, Ben and vanya just minded their own business, happy to just eat their mealsin peace.bWhilst all his siblings were busy distracting themselves selves Five reached his arm down to under his seat were there was a piece of paper. Trying not to cause a sound, he gently manouvered it off the chair and into his pocket without raising any awareness.

After finishing his meal, Five looked up before letting out a cough, trying to gain his father's attention, "Father, I have a question." Five let out a weak attempt to pull his father's eyes away from the paper he was reading but he got a displeasing response, "knowledge is the key to everything dear boy, however there is not talking during mealtimes." Five rolled his eyes exasperated at his father's lack of interest. "I want to time travel." This got reginalds attention he slowly looked up from his paper with an intrigued look in his eyes before disregarding fives statement and looking back down,"we have already talked about this number five and you are not ready!" This just fueled the five in five chests he rapidly blinked to beside his father seat as he ripped the paper out of regianlds hand forcing him to turn towards him," I'm not scared" reginald just glared at him unimpressed,"well boy, it's not about whether you're scared or not it's about the effects time travel will have on your mind and your body " he explained but at this point it was too late five had already turned his back to reginald and ran out of the room hearing a faint yell of his father to come back.

Back in her bedroom eight, heard the commotion downstairs. Desperate to get any ounce of the conversation, she laid her head against the floorboard, trying decipher whose voice was who's. It was difficult, to say the least, after not talking to her siblings for years, but she could distinctly hear her father scowling at someone. She thought deeply to herself who it might be, suddenly she heard ,"Time travel" and it clicked, he was talking to five.

All of a sudden, the yelling came to a stop, and all she could hear was someone running. Scrambling to the window that faced out onto the road, she could see five sprinting she tried to bang at the window anything to grasp his attention, but it was done. He blinked out of sight, and eight was left feeling empty. The one person who even regarded her existence was now gone. She just prayed that he would get over his argument with their father and would return to the academy. She could no longer cope with just being secluded from life even if it was just a look, no sense of emotion behind his eyes except for curiosity it was something, someone who didn't see her has nothing.

For the next two years, eight always left her light on scared that if five was to ever to return, he would see the house dark and leave once again.
