You and Me || Lee Know

Morning came and Rae woke up just as the sun rays fell into her room. It was still cold as she put her feet on the ground. She was about to stand up when there was a knock on the door. Rae opened to see Minho, "Freshen up, then we need to go." Rae couldn't say anything in response as Minho had already walked off. She saw he left a basket with clothes and some stuff to freshen up with.

In the kitchen the 8 boys sat. "Her name is Kim Mirae, Minho brought her last night. Today we will conduct an assessment and from there we will decide what to do next. I expect you all to still treat her kindly." As on cue they saw the dark haired girl walk in. "Hey, come sit. We are just about to have breakfast." there was an empty seat between a boy with freckles and the other boy who looked very young. It reminded Rae of her own brother.

"Im Felix, nice to meet you." He smiled so brightly. "Im Rae." you didn't smile but you did soften your expression. "I'm Jeongin." the boy smiled, you could see his braces. from across the table a squirrel looking boy spoke up, "Im Jisung, and here is your plate." the food was warm, she couldn't even remember when she had a warm meal like this. "You might want to eat up, there is some training today. Im Hyunjin btw." the boy looked at her and she couldn't help but admire his features. "Oi Changbin, stop staring at her like that and eat your food." Raes gaze shifted to the boy who hadn't said much, he looked shorter than her but intimidating. "Ignore him. He hasn't eaten yet. Im Seungmin." Seungmin smiled at her, while he placed a plat in front of Changbin. "Rae is older than most of you, she is the same age as Minho, so be respectful." Chan looked at the younger ones. Rae gathered the order to be Chan, Minho, her, Changbin, Hyunjin, Jisung, Felix, Seungmin and Jeongin. 

Breakfast didn't feel as awkward as Rae had thought, they all talked like she was one of them. she even smiled a little at their behaviour. no one would think they were one of them most feared gangs.

"right Mi- I mean Rae. Lee Know told me last night that you are good with a knife. Id like to see you take on these dummies." Chan had brought her down to their training room. Rae saw any and every kind of weapon. He handed her a small knife and then stepped to the side, she watched as these dummies began to move. they were fast, swift and there was a lot of them. Rae got the knife ready , the first dummy charged at her and she stabbed the neck making it fall back. She was backed into the wall as three dummies swung their arms as her. Rae ducked under and slid across the floor before jumping on the back of one dummy slicing the neck, then pushing the other two down stabbing one in the chest and then throwing her knife straight into the others back piercing it's way through. Rae stood up and pulled the knife out, she wiped the beads of sweat. Chan walked towards her, she couldn't read his face. "Good. Not the greatest but you have good foundation. Our lead killer is Minho and is speciality is knives so you will train with him more. As for combat and other weapons Changbin will teach you along with Hyunjin and Jisung. Felix, Seungmin are our medics and key spies so they will help you on that end. Jeongin is our tech guy, he may look young but his brain is incredible." Rae looked at him with confusion. "Wait does that mean-" Chan chuckled "Id be crazy to not recruit you, I haven't seen anyone with a good knowledge of knife handling like that since...since I recruited Lee Know."

Rae looked around the base for a bit till she saw Felix running towards her. "Rae, Lee Know has asked you to go down to the training room." Felix was such a warm person, she couldn't help but be soft around him. "Thank you. I'll go there now." as Rae made her way down, she could feel a sense of anxiety but remembered that this was just training. 

Lee Know was already waiting, he watched Rae train earlier and was impressed by her skills, for someone who hadn't trained. "Hi." His head turned to see her walk in. "Grab a knife, in combat you may not always be with a knife you are used to. Using a knife is important but also knowing how to survive when another has a knife is just as important." Rae picked up two small knives, Lee Know fixed the dummies with different sized knives.

Just like before the dummies turned on and she was ready. one dummy from behind nearly slit her throat, but Rae stabbed the dummy and threw it over her shoulder. She threw the knife at another dummy, her aim was slightly off but she tackled it to the ground. The last dummy had two knives while she had one, and she was cornered. without thinking she charged forward taking the dummy down, she kicked one knife to the side and the other came towards her but she dodged, barely. and then struck the dummy.

Lee Know walked towards her, "Your aim and form is off. Stop charging at them, use points of weaknesses. If you just charge you will use up your energy. Also don't just throw your knife, sometimes you may only have one. you can't just throw it expecting to get it back." His words were harsh, they cut deep. "Again." Rae picked one knife this time and started again, this time noting what Lee Know said. "FUCK ARE YOU DOING!" Lee Know and Rae had been at this for 3 hours. "Doing what I was told!" Rae was now getting frustrated. "You know what, enough. Tomorrow you are not training with me, fucking moron." With that Rae watched as he stormed out. A few minutes later Changbin and Hyunjin walked in, "Don't mind him. Lee Know is just like that..sometimes. He wants you to be at your best. But we were watching you and honestly are really good, maybe better than Lee Know." Changbin and Hyunjin gave you a small smile. "Enough of this, let's see you use some other weapons. What else are you good with?" Rae only used knives, she hadn't really used anything else before. "Uh only a knife but im up to try something else." Hyunjin looked at the wall and passed her a gun. "Right. let's see how this goes." Changbin set up the dummies and then stepped out the way. "I'll watch your form and we will go from there." "Your target is to get to Hyunjin and get his gun. Got it?" Changbin looked at Rae, she nodded in approval and then begun another gruelling session.

"You are...good. Like really good. I couldn't even fight when I joined, it took me nearly 2 months to get a grip on the gun." Hyunjin gave her a pat on the back. "Thanks, I guess living on the streets has taught me a quite a bit."Both of them gave Rae a sympathetic look, Rae still hadn't opened up but they hoped she would slowly would become more comfortable. "Lets do some more stunts, its important you test the other types of guns as well." Eventually after a few hours you figured that the small guns were best fit for you. 

"Guys, freshen up. It is time for dinner." Seungmin came down. Your stomach rumbled just as he mentioned dinner, which caused a few laughs from the others. "Guess someone is hungry." They grabbed there stuff and began walking up to their rooms. 

When Rae got back to her room she saw it had been decorated. There was clothes in her wardrobe, some snacks and on her bed was a stuffed animal and fairly lights strung around her bed. Raes heart swelled, it was such a new feeling. "We hope you like it. Chan had told us that you would be here for the long run so...as a way to welcome you we decided to make your room less...depressing." The three boys stood beaming with smiles. "Aw thank you." Felix was first to hug Rae, then Jisung and Jeongin. 

It felt some warm having people care enough to do something like this.
