'Finally!' Stefan exclaimed as Isa entered the kitchen.
She was still wearing her sleeping clothes, an oversized shirt and biker like shorts. Tiredly, she took a seat at the kitchen table, rubbing her temples slowly. Her hair was sticking out, half falling out of the simple braid holding it together. It was almost lunch time and yet she looked as if she had just rolled out of bed. That would have been the case, if Isa could have slept at all.
'So Elena went behind our backs and took the dagger out of dear old Elijah.' Damon informed her, sipping from his glass of alcohol even at this early hour.
The vampire didn't respond, too lost in her own head. She hadn't been able to close an eye at all the previous night, the hidden truth Klaus had revealed to her keeping her awake. Isa now had much more questions than before, her mind refusing to stop wondering.
The news of Elijah being awake should have been a surprise, if Elena hadn't been texting her about it the entire morning. Selfishly, Isa decided to ignore her calls. Elijah had lied to her again and again, she could not believe a word he had to say. Was it all a game to him? And yet he might have been the only one besides Klaus himself who could give her answers.
'I just got off the phone with her when you came down. She keeps insisting they need time to talk and won't tell me where she is. Though, she did tell me Elijah refuses to speak of anything or make any kind of deal without you there. Elena said you are the only one who knows where to find her.' Stefan explained, concerned for his girlfriend.
Isa didn't bother replying as she stared out of the small kitchen's glass window, watching the cars move down the street with unfocused eyes.
'Are you even listening?' Stefan asked, rounding the corner, blocking her line of vision. 'What's wrong? Is this about Elena? Did she say something?' He urged her, bringing Isa back from where she had been lost in the corners of her mind.
Overwhelmed, the young vampire slammed her hands on the table as she raised from her chair.
'It's not about Elena! Jesus, Stefan, not all our worlds involve around your girlfriend!' Isa snapped, her voice filled with a rare show of emotion.
Stefan frowned, not understanding why she was being rude when Elena was in such a dangerous situation. Damon just poured himself another glass, unbothered by the small display of rage. Isa closed her eyes, forcing herself to get it together. The past week she had been more emotionally messed up than her entire life. She wasn't this person, someone to burst out in anger or be an emotional mess. Isa had always been calm and collected, knowing when to bite and when not to, the definition of taught perfection. Now, she was spiraling and the only way she could see to make it stop was to get some answers. That was if Isa could believe anything Elijah would say.
