Once she finally regained consciousness, it took Isa a few moments to realize she wasn't in her bedroom at the boarding house. She moved around, pushing herself into a sitting position. The bed was too large to be her own and the sheets smelled like they had been freshly washed. The walls were painted white and most of the simple furniture was a light shade of brown. On the door she assumed led to the bathroom there was an information card.
It didn't take long for Isa to put the pieces together. She was in a hotel room.
'I'm sorry for the location, love. It was the best I could do on such short notice. But don't worry, you will have an actual place soon.'
Isa's head snapped in Klaus's direction. He was lazily laying back on a chair close to her bed. She somehow had failed to notice him when she was inspecting the room.
'I already have a place, the Salvatore boarding house.' She said, venom in her voice.
Klaus shook his head, staring at her as if she was a child who couldn't stop asking why the sun was yellow. As if he had to explain something really obvious that she just didn't understand.
'That is the Salvatore brothers' home.' He said.
Isa's glare was so harsh it could rival his own. It made Klaus smile, her ferocity, her spirit.
'Home is where my family is.' She continued, refusing to play her part in his twisted little game.
Isa was getting fed up with Elijah and Klaus and their lies. She didn't appreciate being kidnapped when her family needed her the most. Elena was to die that night and she was stuck in a hotel room with her soon to be killer. In that moment she couldn't care less for how much time Klaus had spent searching for her, how long he stared at her painted figure. Not then, not when the sacrifice she could lose everything in was so close.
'I am your family.' He corrected her, not caring how possessive he must have sounded.
The Original had planned to approach this in a gentler way, if he was even capable of such a thing. But with Elijah meeting her before him and the sacrifice finally right around the corner, he no longer had the luxury of time or any of the patience he knew he should use with Isa left. In no way did he want to scare her away. Her being terrified of him was his greatest nightmare. But he couldn't afford the distraction of having to worry abut her safety and finally lifting the curse at the same time.
Klaus's stare became colder as if her calling somebody else her home had upset him. Isa clenched her teeth, he had no right. The logical part of her understood why if you searched for something for over a thousand years and you are lucky enough to find it, you would never let it go. But she wasn't an object he could just claim, a prize to be won. She was a person who refused to be imprisoned.
