The god Ganesha was a very joyful god. He was well known for throwing parties for the gods, which many of them attended.
Hosting such parties was not something strange for gods. However, here Ganesha differed from others as his were a lot more flamboyant and he was the only one that hosted those parties at his own house rather than other gods that hosted it at the guild.
Sometimes, gods or goddesses happened to bring children of their Familias at those parties. It was a bit rare, but not unusual.
It wasn't anything that Ganesha forbid either. Gods or mortals, it can only become more fun if there are more people.
Yet, it wasn't something that gods repetatdly do. Well, most of them didn't.
Apollo was an exception. He almost always had some members of his Familia with him.
This time such a rare occurence had happened and from the goddess of Orario's strongest Familia as well. Freya had brought hee newest Familia member with her at the party hosted by Ganesha.
At first he had brough quite a lot of looks. And that was not only because of the kimono that looked very good on him.
No, it's because that he was yhe newest member of the Freya Familia. Everyone in that Familia was a monster, so he must be quite something for Freya to recruit him.
However, Apollo was not aware that Kumagawa joined Freya Familia. Fact for which he wanted that child for himself.
You could say Apollo was a god that gets in his Familia everyone he fancies. To the point it could be considered harassment, although none of the children of his Familia ever complained.
So, Apollo tried to get Kumagawa for himself. It didn't work well.
Hyakinthos, the Apollo Familia's captain, was send to convince Kumagawa. The two humans had quite and disagreement, which lead to a fight to break out between them.
Although it could hardly be called a fight. Kumagawa treated Hyakinthos like some sort of toddler.
Than Freya stepped in, making the situation even worse for Apollo. Than a punishment was decided for the greek god, one he thought he could easily hadled.
Only now where the other gods shown how right they were. Kumagawa was something, alright.
Now Apollo laid on the floor with empty eyes, his once flaring red hair having washed out in an completely blank white. A oversized thin screw impaled through his abdomen.
Kumagawa:[Moshi! Moshi!]
Apollo was unresponsive of anything. However, he was undeniably still alive and healthy, from a physical condition at least.
Also, the way the screw was stabbed into Apollo was strange. The screw had undoubtably pierced through the god's abdomen, yet there was no blood coming out.
There didn't even seem to be a wound. It was like...The screw was now part of Apollo.
Kumagawa:[He's not responding at all...Ah, are you the melancholic drunk type? Woah, and I thought for sure you'd be the loudmouth drunk type. How out of character! I understimated you!]
Kumagawa was still playing this off like Apollo had too much to drink. It was clearly a lie and he was clearly enjoying it.
Hyakinthos:Y...You bas...
However, Hyakinthos didn't get to finish hus insult. Kumagawa's sandal had already made contact with his face.
Another crater fortmed on the floor as Kumagawa stepped on Hyakinthos's head. A loud crack was heard.
The brown haired man no doubt had his skull fractured. Of course, Kumagawa didn't plan on putting any more pressure on Apollo Familia's captain.
If he's do so, the man would die. No, no, he didn't put on such a show for Hyakinthos to have such an easy escape.
Kumagawa:[Woah! So scary! Sorry, crawling towards me like that...I have mistaken you for a cockroach!]
Hephaestus:Hey, Freya...What the hell is that?
Hephaestus pointed to the screw. Sweat was rolling off her face as she gazed at it.
Freya:Oh, my! Had your eyesight gone bad? It's a screw.
Hephaestus:I'm serious here! I know what it looks like. I'm the Goddess of Smith, you know? I could tell the quality of any material, but I...I have absolutely no idea what I'm looking at!
Freya:Fufu, I jest. Well, I'm sure you'd have no problem discerning it...If it was a weapon.
Of course, Freya knew exactly what it was. She had given Kumagawa her Falna, after all.
From one look alone, she had no doubt which one of Kumagawa's skills this one was. Book Maker.
Hephaestus:Not...It's not a weapon?
Freya:It's one of his skills. That is all that I'm gonna tell you.
Hephaestus:A skill tha manifests as an physical object? That's a first.
But this was quite strange to see. For him to go this far, Kumagawa must be quite pissed.
That child that was usually so composed and unperturbed by everything...What could have Hyakinthos said to get him in such a mood?
Loki:Heh, now that's a plot twist if I've ever seen one...
Hestia:Apollo really bit off more than he can chew this time...Well, it was bound to happen at one point.
Freya ignored them, walking towards Kumagawa. Although the minus didn't plan on inflicting any more damage on Hyakinthos, that didn't stop him from wiping his sandal with the captain's face.
Kumagawa then felt a hand gently laid on his shoulder. He turned his head to see his patron goddess.
Kumagawa:[Hm?]
Freya:I've had enough socialization. Shall we go home?
Kumagawa:[...Yeah, this got pretty boring as well.]
With that the two departed. Of course, no one tried to stop them.
When they arrived back at tge Babel Tower, Ottar asked how the party has been going. The answer was quite a shock to him.
Ottar:How impudent!
Kumagawa:[Right? Really, he's the type of person I hate the most.]
Freya:By the way, I wanted to ask about that Book Maker of yours. Your status only gave a brief summary of it. I believe you can tell me much more.
Kumagawa:[Well, once they figured out what's wrong they'll try to get it away from him. Trying to destroy it is no good. Even if they threw him into the sun...He can survive that, right? I mean it's his main thing...Anyway, it's wouldn't leave as much a burn mark on my Book Maker. Well, think of it as a seal with status effect. It can be lifted, sure. But I'm the only one that can do it.]
Ottar:What a terrifying skill...It also would be very useful in the dungeon if there's an edpedition to a new level.
Kumagawa:[Haha, I'd offer to go even if it wasn't. Risk is one of my preferate things. Anyway, I will lift it off. The question is...At what price?]
Freya:Fufu, well said. We'll have negociations with them at another time. Night, boys.
With that, Freya departed to her chamber. Silence was left behind her.
Kumagawa:[...Do you wanna have a sleepover?]
Ottar:I have to guard Freya-sama's room.
